First of all this is not intended to persuade anyone to become a fighter. The last thing I want is a new generation of two fisted half wits like myself. I would rather people help the world by using their heads as something other than a speed bag for a blood-lusting pugilist. That being said...
Well, everyone has a reason to workout, like I said...have to give them credit where it's due though, because at least they're doing something, even if it's for a different reason. Considering most people these days are severely overweight and just really unhealthy, it's good to be surrounded by other people with the same tastes and likes as yourself. :)
Keep doing what you're doing!! And good luck with all your goals!
Thanks! :). I know it's difficult for most people...I ask them how they like working out, and what it's done for them, and all they answer with is "I hate workout. I just do it because I have to."
It's a little sad, I think. I mean everyone has their reasons for things, but I think that if you really want to give 110% in what you do, (and look it as well!) you have to WANT to do it.
So now whenever I feel like giving up, I tell myself "I won't give up today - I'll give up tomorrow." It's the one time that I find procrastination to be good for me, because I never end up doing it!!
That's a good question.
It was because I was sick of being constantly sick, tired, and battling with self-consciousness. Trust me, I've felt like giving up SO many times. But you know, it was at those times that I really pushed myself, and kept telling myself that maybe if I did it just one more day, I'd reach the goals I wanted to. And I did. :)
I did run for 20 years but quit 7 years ago b/c I got bursitis in my hip & it got pretty persistent after training for & running a marathon. I would just say to make sure you listen to your body and don't overtrain. Don't make every run a hard run. Do some recovery runs. I abused my body for years and paid for it. Read Runner's World magazine and follow the advice! Good luck!
First time ever, both Jan King and I are competing in some sort of fitness competition. In 34+ years of working out I have never competed as a bodybuilder.
Jan is a 49 yr old mom of 7. She started with me 1/2/2008, 1 year ago. See great photos of Jan: http://www.creativecommonsense .us/b4after.html#janking
