How I Started:
I have always been active, but had slowed down a lot after high school. The weight gain did not stop after the "freshman 15". I finally decided I would lose it and started walking everyday. I would put in a movie and walk/jog on an incline for the entire movie. By the time I got married I had lost almost 40 lbs. After I had my baby, I decided I wanted to be healthier! With the help of my husband, I have a regular workout plan and "clean" diet. I feel great and I feel great about my post-baby body!!
Why I Love It:
There are so many positives...you feel great physically after a great workout..not to mention the mental aspects-the excitement of meeting a goal, the pride in your body as people realize that you work hard to stay healthy, the self-assurance to where a bikini in public!!
How I Stay Motivated:
I research articles online and through different health magazines. It is fun to try to figure out what actually works and what doesn't. Other people's success is also very motivating...as well seeing improvements in myself.

Bring on the summer...for the first time in my life I want to feel completely comfortable in a bikini (since I plan to practically live in one this year after spending last summer big pregnant). My goal is 12% body fat, not really concerned about what the scale says.

I have been trying to get back with the program, but my husband decided he didn't really feel like being helpful. I say, "I'm back on it." He says "lets go get some icecream." URGH!! I don't have enough will-power when it is in my face! So, for all those who struggle...
Well, there are times when that's going to happen. Don't let it bother you too much. Look at you girl, you're right on track. Did you have a baby in 2009?

hey i read your blog about birthday parties coming up etc. Well use your management skills to live with distractions and manage time for a 30 odd min workout. At the end of it all, you'll get a workout in between all the fun time with family. I tend to think there is not enough time around these situations, but in the end there is always ample time. Good luck.
