I was deployed to Balad AB, Iraq Jan 07- Jun 07. Stress levels were off the meter and sleeping it off does not work. Going to the gym, everyday, was the only thing that kept me sane.
Why I Love It:
I do have to be honest. Before going to Iraq, you couldn't pay me to go to the gym. I hated squadron PT. Anything that had to do with working out was not for me. But being in the desert, changed all that. I started to go because I was bored and really needed to relieve stress. Then, before I knew it, I fell in love. And now, you can't keep me out. I had a nice body before I got started, but as time wore on, I started noticing vast improvement. My confidence went through the roof. And, most importantly, I was happier with myself. I was finally able to walk around with my head held high.
How I Stay Motivated:
Being in the military brings stressful times into a person's life. Especially with the issues going on in the world today. I don't like losing sleep and having my hair fall out. So I have to do something to release all that built up tension. Plus, I love that feeling I get everytime I leave the gym. It's like, "I'm the best", "I look good", and "Wow, I can't believe I just did all that" rolled into one emotion. Plus, I love when people ask me, "How do you do it?" And this may sound superficial, but I refuse to show my age. I'm serious, I refuse. To know I can look good AND be healthy at the same time is a good feeling. Plus, it's cheap. Better than all the BOTOX and that stuff that's in the world today. Plus, it makes me SMILE!!
BB Accomplishments:
Honestly, I would have to say my biggest accomplishment when it comes to my body, just happened about two weeks ago. I QUIT SMOKING!!!

What is your favorite cardiovascular exercise? Why?
The elliptical machine, jump rope, jumping jakes, mountain climbers. I hate running, but do it because it has to be done.
