When I Started:
May, 2007
How I Started:
The company I work for installed a brand spankin' new fitness center at the corporate office. They gave us the option to use the services of a personal trainer twice a week, and they covered half the cost, so I took the opportunity to improve my fitness level. My trainer competes regularly in figure competitions, and she encouraged me to give it a shot.
Why I Love It:
I love getting stronger every week and seeing my body change shape. I also love the post-workout endorpohin high. It's the best way to beat stress.
How I Stay Motivated:
The thought of being on stage in a bikini keeps me focused on training hard. I'd also hate to lose the muscle I've worked so hard to build.
BB Accomplishments:
Surprising the guys in my gym by deadlifting 60 lbs... and not looking like a waif girl anymore.
My goal is to gain 7 pounds of muscle by December 31, 2008.
Goal (Long):
It would be nice to finally have a healthy BMI after being underweight for years. I would also like to see more definition in my biceps, triceps, lats, and quads.

I want to GAIN 7 lb

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Keep updating your goals. Once you achieve a goal, set another one. Take pride in the fact that you aren't like all those couch potatoes out there. Realize that every minute you spend in the gym will add to your quality of life down the road. Keep updating your goals. Once you achieve a goal, set another one.
