When I Started:
Jan, 1999
How I Started:
Began with short triathlons. Graduated to Ironman distance triathlons. Now I am more interested in gaining more muscle. My Ironman weight was 175, I am now 195.
Why I Love It:
Since I have an endurance background bodybuilding offered something different. I do the bodybuilding as an effor to improve fitness and strength for racing.
Thanks for the compliments. I am planning on participating in the Merrill Lynch Race or Sight Triathlon in May. I have no endurance history besides my passion for jumprope. I am rally excited about a new challenge. Any tips..?
Great gains. I'm trying to go the opposite way. I've never been a runner and have just been bitten by the bug. Have friends who did the Phoenix Ironman earlier in the year and have convinced me to do one of the minis. Where in Phoenix are you from? I'm originally from Mesa. Take care,
Jack
What was your endurance background before doing tris? I'm a runner by background, currently hobbled by Achilles tendonitis and thinking about taking up more swimming and cycling. I'd like to do a triathlon someday, but it's hard to imagine how to fit all the training in. Do you think weight lifting helps?
