Overall Goal: Train to compete in Powerlifting, Strongman and possible highland games. Maybe some other stuff along the way. Have fun and train hard. Over come past and present injuries
Fit Status:
had agreat meet and got a 709 deadlift, now back to training and looking to hit 725 next and a 1700 raw total
I bought a weider power rack and olympic weights and didnt look back. Delved into anything I could about training and nutrition, Met anyone I could, went o seminars, etc.. Worked at a high profile internet site for 6 years on their forum in the training section all the while getting my masters degree in Fine art.
Why I Love It:
Strength sports is a great community, full of the finest people I have met and also some of the worst but never a dull moment. Its a wide open discipline where one can NEVER reach perfection just new goals.
How I Stay Motivated:
Constantly reaching and striving new goals, and helping others reach theirs, all the while keeping i
BB Accomplishments:
None bodybuilding wise, just not my thing. I enjoy things that are more objective in their standards. I guess bodybuilding wise the only thing close to that I have done is transform myself from 300+ sloppy lbs to 215 single digit BF and walk around there 200-215 for a few years, then got as low as 165lbs and a runner. Then back up in the 200's before figuring out all the physique focused living was just an endless wear with no real tangible goals of your own and your living sickly and sadly by not your own standard but for and how other perceive you.
Id say My greatest accomplishments training wise are at the competitive level as an athlete in strongman and powerlifting. Competing in both breaking and holding numerous state, regional and national records in several weight classes and being ranked as high as 10th in the Deadlift in my weightclass. I am the current APF national squat, DL and bench record holder in the raw 275 class.
That and hosting seminars and strenght events. I am the current state Chair for the NAHA and founder of Lift For Hope. An organization that holds strenght events for charitable youth organizations. www.lift4hope.org.

Goal (Long):
Short Term goal is to get a 700lb competition DL
Get knee and shoulder healed and get into the 600 squat and 400 pres range. Hit a 1550 total in Feb 09 and build from there with ultimate goal of ranking elite in Powerlifting raw at a BW of 242 or 275. Other compete more in strongman and try out a highland games.
Possibly at some point drop bodyfat into the single digits again just to do it, but in the grand scheme of things thats a simple task taking weeks as opposed to months and year to get dog strong. So thats not really a goal just something I will do.
usually most time less then 5 mainly in the 1-3 rep range for main moves and many sets. To build strength, and dense muscle. Also with lighter loads to build explosive power
