PetethePianist

Overall Goal:  Someday, I'd love to have the perfect bodybuilder's body, but I'm realistic. My goal for now is to just look good naked.

Fit Status:  dealing with gyno and bloating.... looks like another summer without going to the beach.

Motivation Level: 8/10

When I Started:
Jun, 2002
How I Started:
I decided to start turning my life around when I was 14. I was 216lbs, with no excuse but laziness. I started dieting strictly, with aid from Xenadrine RFA-1, and eventually dropped to 124lbs. Since then, I've been pushing myself to gain the weight back without adding any fat.
Why I Love It:
I love working out because its the only thing I have in my life where I feel a sense of accomplishment. Just the atmosphere of the gym, and the pump I get makes me genuinely happy.
How I Stay Motivated:
I become progressively more motivated as I go; I won't be proud of myself until I personally think my body is perfect, and I know I'm a long way from it.
BB Accomplishments:
(At 5'11" and 165lbs)

Bench press- 285lbs
Squat- 575lbs
Seated dumbbell curl- 65lb per hand

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
If I'm lifting heavy, I aim for 4-6 reps. I refuse to just do 8 reps on a set if I can do more; I try very hard not to count but its a deeply routed habit. This way i can train to failure on every s...more

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
I give myself a lot of rest between sets. I'm always trying to grow so I don't want to be in an aerobic position where I'm lifting lighter weights just to keep the pace up. I take enough rest to be ...more

Where do you mainly workout?
Gym
Why? What are the pros and cons of working out there?
I belong to two gyms, one at my school and one back at home... I love the atmosphere and knowing that if I need help with something whether its an idea for a new routine or just a quick spot, someone ...more

It's been a while since people could tell I had a disorder just by looking at me... at one point I had dropped to 124lbs (a weight loss of 89lbs). I had balanced myself out for a while at about 165 and was basically ok with how I looked, but since I've been trying to get bigger, I've been...

no doubt Hamelin's a genius...but do you actually like the obscure pieces he digs up? I don't know, I grew up with Rubenstein, Horowitz, Van Cliburn & Brendal... more traditional...explains why I'm working on the Beethoven Pathetique! The truth: I'm an opera singer...play piano on the side.

Argerish was just here playing the Ravel in G...got great reviews...of those 4, I like Volodos's maturity, then Kissin as a technician. Berezovsky's a powerhouse destroyer of pianos...all that Russian testosterone!

all great pieces...that Rach prelude fits your body type! I listen to the concertos over & over, but have never worked on them...ever heard Martha Argerich play the 4th? Dude, she rocks.
