When I Started:
Nov, 2007
How I Started:
I was a pro-athlete however have been side-tracked by life. Over time I made several attempts at getting back into fitness mode but like many, working out after the day-job and all of other life's opportunities, I haven't stuck to it like I want or need to. However, since November of last year I've been reading profiles here, watching some of you progress, reading the interaction and seeing such dynamic people, I made the choice to jump in full-bore. I was once told by a coach that motivation comes from within, inspiration comes from everywhere, but if that doesn't work, shut the *&(&^% up and do it. So... That's how I got started and will stick to it.
Why I Love It:
I love the discipline and how I feel during and after. Oddly, I enjoy the pain and on a very raw and animalistic level, I need it.
How I Stay Motivated:
Waking up and looking in the mirror motivates me. Wanting to be my best physically and mentally, not only for me but for the ones I love. I get inspiration from reading this site and other fitness related literature.
BB Accomplishments:
None yet. This is the next chapter in my great adventure.
Forum Signature:
Motivation comes from within. Inspiration comes from everywhere. But if neither of those work, &*$^% it and just do it.
Live balanced and healthy in all aspects of my life: relationships, work, family, mind, spirit and body. Oh and bring back that beach body!!!
Goal (Long):
I travel about 25 days a month all over the Western Hemisphere and Asia. I've traveled like this for years. Unfortunately, since college and some pro-ball I allowed my body to get out of shape. Time to set new goals and kick butt in achieving them. My goals are simple and measurable. Lose body fat, gain lean muscle, lower my blood pressure, change my nutrition and seek out a balanced lifestyle all the while accomplishing this around my travel schedule. I don't want to rely on modern medicine to keep me strong! My challenge is to do this while traveling my schedule. Hotels with work-out facilities and flexible menus are in my future (and present).
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 40 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
13%
Upcoming Contest:
I will name these as I get closer but for now I have a few rocks I want to climb and the Great Wall

Finding motivation today is a challenge. I arrived in Hong Kong yesterday and didn't do a thing except wade through customs, on and off planes, on and off water taxi's and water ferry's. Had some fantastic food and gorgeous wine. So, that sounds more like a travel blog instead of a workout...
This is what I'm committed to: 3 days hard, 3 days light, one day no activity at all - full recovery and indulgence for me. Monday/Wed and Friday are hard days focused on upper body. Lower body doesn't need as much work so that's Tuesday/Thurs and Saturday.
Thanks for the great message :) For me the hardest part was eating very clean thru the holidays while everyone else had their opinion about my eating.... I knew that I was disappointed in myself for getting out of shape & I knew that I was going to do it 100% Not having support at home definitely makes it harder, but I did it with the help of my friends on here. I found out that I was stronger than I thought.
it really is alot of fun! a few mornings i questioned my sanity level but overall, i'm having the time of my life!! =) any plans to compete in any others?
oh believe me! i've been practicing my transitions! that's were some races are won =) not that i'm gonna win, mind you.. haha.. i've been concentrating on my bricks cuz that change in muscle use is really tough! so have you done many tri's before?? any tips you can give me would be GREATLY appreciated =)
It's good. It's suppose to be in the 80s all this week. I'm about 10x more ripped now then in my pics. I'm thinking of joining the transformation contest. Probably sitting at %10 body fat, but I know for a fact I can get to %6 and gain 10lbs of muscle with my work ethic.
Thankyou very much. I am studying now to become recertified. I also have a gym nearby that will hire me when I am ready. I will start in August most likely and transition into my own business!!!
lol - your timing is perfect. I'm just printing my boarding passes after packing up my powder into ziplocks and thinking that it's a good thing it smells like chocolate...I'm off to Indiana and then Atltanta for the week.
Great to hear from you, I hope you are well.
Houston is great. Getting warmer by the day... so we are slowly being thrown into the heat here. We've forgotten about the heatstorm that comes in the summer because its been sooooooo nice this Spring. :)
just cruising in to say hi! I try to have positive energy a lot but sometimes I buy a pint of ice cream too LOL the most important thing is to recognize that life is never perfect, and it's okay sometimes to lack discipline. when you rebound back you push yourself harder! hope you are doing well today :)
