When I Started:
How I Started:
I had was involved in an accident with no health insurance. I knew I had to do something or I would end up worse.
So I started reading muscle magazines, Picturaly Muscle & Fittness, Flex & Muscle Mag. Along with books on biology and atomony. From there I was hooked.
Why I Love It:
I love bodybuilding for so many reasons: As a kid I was always smaller than other kids my age and always picked on for being skinny, but could always outlift them in the gym. After being involved in an accident, not having health insurance. I crawled out of the bars and into the gym. Body building opened a whole new world for me. It's a sport and an art. I love the look, the challenge of it, sculpting my body like creating a statue. It is such a metaphor for overcoming obstacles and becoming greater because of it--a significant theme in my life. Body building makes me a better person, more patient, it teaches me about myself. Being driven to always push myself, to be better than the last time, it's made me dig deep to get in touch with a limitless source of power within me. I love posing, it's such an art in itself, total self expression.
I'm a personal trainer now, and photographer, so this creative aspect appealed to me right away. Bodybuilding is paradoxical in many ways but that works for me too, since I am continually striving for balance in my life and usually do so by first going to extremes. You have to be selfish to be a bodybuilder, but going through all the pains to get where I want to be, I have actually become more and more selfless.
It's given me confidence but I always see what needs to be improved. It takes insane drive to be in the sport, but more than anything it takes a lot of heart to stick with it, to continually push to be greater, to never be satisfied. I've learned to turn my weaknesses into strengths, in bodybuilding and in life.
How I Stay Motivated:
It is the same inherent unbalanced physiological reason all body builders have. To consistently change our bodies to create our own inner and outer perfection.
BB Accomplishments:
Being able not only to walk again. From an accident that almost killed me. But I can squat over 400lbs. Now I am training for my first NPC. show for 2008

We are made in the image of God, so why are there so many slobs and gluttons running around. Think of us as crazy for wanting to be monstrous warriors. Is not the depiction of God, the ultimate Power and Might with a heart kindness and Gold for all his children.
