How I Started:
Have always been active in sports and weight lifting was always a small part of that. As I have grown older lifting has taken more of a center stage role.
Why I Love It:
It's a great stress reliever for my high stress life, plus I love the feeling I get while doing it and watching my body change over time.
How I Stay Motivated:
Staying fit, active and athletic as I get older. Seeing the changes in the mirror as I look better. Plus I really enjoy crushing the 20 somethings in the gym and on the field or court:) Having my gorgeous wife tell me I'm hot doesn't hurt at all either.
BB Accomplishments:
Looking better in my 40s than I did in my 30s. Having the 20 something males tell me they wish they looked and played like I do.

Goal (Long):
I want to take good care of myself. I want to have a lean, muscular, attractive body for my wife. I desire a continued level of athleticism that enables me to enjoy all the physical activities I love: Volleyball, Basketball, Scuba Diving, Mountain Climbing, etc.. I want to be able to continue doing all of the above at a high level into my 50s

Been away to Galveston, Tx for a week helping with the clean up and getting families back in their homes.
Last night was my first night back in my gym.

I started doing CrossFit at the beginning of April and will never go back to a regular lifting routine. I now wait for the WOD on Crossfit.com and am building elite FUNCTIONAL FITNESS. I don't want to just look good physically, I want to BE GOOD ATHLETICALLY!
Sounds like your training is going strong!Great work. I had a buddy I hadn't seen in a while tell me this weekend that I've put on mass. It's hard for me to tell at times cause I see myself everyday. That's was a great positive reinforcement for that I'm doing the right things. Little stuff like that keeps me motivated.

You're welcome! Another game tonight. What I like about the gym he plays in is that there are cardio machines along the side. So I can hit the treadmill or elliptical during the game and still watch..whoo hoo!
Thanks for the comments. Your looking in pretty good shape too, and doing a triathlon is awesome! I think most people tie food to emotions, and by denying eating with people or their food, they feelrejected. I have a friend who is a really good cook, except nothing she makes fits into my healthy eating diet. So when I turn down her food, I think she believes I am rejecting her friendship by rejecting her food. She's better about it now, but she is just one example of many instances.
like you I think that Cross Fit is an awesome work out. I think I told you I have been doing it since before the past summer. Love the full body work out feeling.
so what trialthon are ya doing and when is it? Good Luck. My son had done 3. I love to watch, maybe one day the bug will hit and I might try one.

no marathons this year.. i don't have the drive in me this season to train endurance.. more time commitment (and child care hassles) than i'm ready to deal with again, so i'll focus on 5Ks and 10Ks with a 1/2 thrown in there somewhere
so how do you like the CrossFit Training? I have been doin it since the summer. I love it. best all body workout you can have.
