When I Started:
Dec, 2006
How I Started:
Former injured marathon runner. Wanted to stay healthy after unresolved injury caused incredible decline in fitness level. My marathon weight was 149 lbs at 6 ft 4inches tall. I bulked up to 235 lbs. Lost the first part of the weight before I started weight training. I am now trying to trim that into toned muscle. Very hard I'm finding at my age, 40. I'm at 200 lbs.
Why I Love It:
Being a skinny cardio guy, it's interesting to see an actual bicep developing in this 40 year old body.
How I Stay Motivated:
Difficult. I'm a hard gainer; so while I've lost fat, i've only gained 8 lean pounds, compared with losing 26 fat pounds. I'm not sure what to do next.
After gaining weight from 150 lbs to 235 lbs, I decided it was time to shed and get lean again, rather than the bulky look I had on my tall frame.
Goal (Long):
My next assessment takes place at the end of August and intend to put up pics of my progress then. I seem to be losing fat, but little muscle development. I'm not sure if this is normal. My left arm gives out alot, and because of the weakness, it impacts other aspects of my chest routine. Chest remains pretty crappy still, but hope to get some definition over the next four weeks. We'll see. Overall, I'm looking to get back into a toned and tight physique.
