I was a starting linebacker/full back in high school. Each practice I had to compete against a kid who had, easily, 4inches and 30 lbs. on me. I wanted to play; the only way to prove myself was to get bigger, faster, and stronger. A bad leg injury put me out for good, so I started swimming. Since I was about 16 I never really left the 155 range. I always believed I had the genetics to have an amazing physique and I refuse to let it slip away any longer.
Why I Love It:
Because its better than sex. When I'm training I'm in a mentally, physically, and emotionally better state. I compete with myself to become better than I was yesterday. It pushes me to have the same mentality in school, at work, at home, etc.
It's the value of hard work, determination, discipline, and love for yourself. This is a sport only for those who truly put themselves to the test against a challenge. I apply it to every aspect of life: the effort you put forth to complete a challenge will be rewarded accordingly. Life is a competition and if you don't want to put in your dues you'll get left behind: survival of the fittest.
I'm fascinated by the human body down to the molecular level and working towards a Ph.D. in Immunology. I'm that dork that loved organic chemistry. It's kinda fun when you see those crazy names on supplements and can draw them out in your head.
I train to failure, because it's opportunity out of defeat. I wake up and feel like I was hit by a truck and love it. Stretch, diet, recover, and return to my battlefield. Look at the log book and try to beat the numbers. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
How I Stay Motivated:
Death metal and Dorian Yates.
BB Accomplishments:
Starting mid-May, I dropped from 153 to 148 cutting body fat within 2 weeks. Two months later I went back to 152 leaner, stronger, and bigger. My goal is to hit 160 by September. Last October I went home and saw the kid I played football with; he told me I was his inspiration during training - big words for someone who stands only up to his abdomen.
I think I took this for a girl but now it's for personal records... a much better reason.
OK, so there's been some body fat gains but some mass as well. That was to be expected. Comparison from this stance is most obvious in the chest and lats.
To compete in the Jersey Shore Classic at 155 and 4%.
Goal (Long):
I'm setting the goal at 155lbs and 4% body fat as competition ready statistics. Future objectives are to reach the 170 mark. Any bigger would be too difficult for my body to maintain. Even this is a goal I may not see for some years. I believe I have the genetics for a great physique. I want to be pound-for-pound impressively strong and have a body that resembles something of a Greek god. Could I ever be a mass monster? Probably not but I'll get as big as my body will let me.
His accomplishments are almost exact to my long-term goal. When you find a success story of someone similar to yourself it makes your goals all the more real and attainable. Now I have an image of my goals. Thanks man, great work!
Last friday I hit 170.4 at 19%... Pretty good work for two months in a bulk from 154. Now I've changed my diet to a 3:3:3 ratio to maintain body fat and focus more on slower growth to keep myself in a healthy physiological condition. I love this new diet: real clean, affordable, easy with...
Yeah man been hitting it pretty hard. starting to see some big progress, uni life is getting in the way a little though but getting around it. need something to keep me energized a little more. So you wanna compete? how far off that are you?
