When I Started:
Jun, 2007
How I Started:
I origionally started seriously working out when I signed a Navy contract to become a rescue swimmer.
Why I Love It:
I feel like when I'm done at the gym I've accomplished something for that day. I also would be lying if I said I didn't like making the boys take a second look.
How I Stay Motivated:
I am naturally very competitive in everything I do so that helps. But I stay motivated by thinking about what I can accomplish if I just keep going.
BB Accomplishments:
I'm not going for muscle size however my biggest accomplishment was passing the Rescue Swimmer Test the week before leaving Boot camp in January of 2008.
The military as a whole is very short on EOD (explosive Oridnance Disposal) technicians and Navy Divers . I have the ASVAB scores and brains to do it however being a female it is hard to keep up physically. I have always been athletic however I've slowly fallen into a new round shape I'm not used to; making my goal a little harder to reach. But I am a determined individual and am sure I could help our country filling some much needed positions. Only problem is I need to have 2 years in my current rate/job before I can change and get a new contract. So I'm just waiting for that. So I am going to start doing short term goals on specific things to reach the end.
The physical in-test minimal standards consists of:
-500 Yard swim using side or breast stroke 14:00 minutes or faster (10 minute rest)
-Perform a minimum of 42 push-ups in 2:00 minutes (2 minute rest)
-Perform a minimum of 50 sit-ups in 2:00 minutes (2 minute rest)
-Perform a minimum of 6 dead hang pull-ups: no time limit (10 minute rest)
-Run 1.5 miles in 12:45 or faster
I want to exceed all of these!
What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
I do make some noise, but the really loud grunters I wonder if they're okay

What type of outfit do you usually wear when you workout? Why?
Underarmor Shorts and a t-shirt along with Running shoes and my i-pod. No dressing up is necessary in the gym. I'm not there to show the guys I have boobs.. I'm more interesting in them seeing my strength and my ability to keep up with them.Underarmor Shorts and a t-shirt along with Running shoes and my i-pod. No dressing up is necessary in the gym.
