Two years ago I could not do five consecutive push-ups.(Now I can) I could not even hang from a chinning bar for longer than five seconds, so a chin-up was out of the question.(Now I can) I was almost 215 lbs of 24% B.F. My blood pressure was 170/95 and cholesterol was 210. It was time to do something after almost seven years of sedentary existence...(So, I did!)

Who wouldn't be inspired by a man so "old and feeble" as Mike. It's a wonder he's not endorsing "walkers"...lol...He knows I'm roasting him. Check out his pics and you'll see a man with a body 25 years younger than what his driver's license says. He has experience and knowledge in bodybuilding. I'm proud to say he is an inspiring friend.
Chris,
I wish you a peaceful and joyful first Christmas without your wife. Last year was my first and I remember it as hard.
It was helpful to anticipate difficulties. Example:I was often fine at an event, but the loneliness of the road was tough. CDs that captured my attention were a great distraction.
Anticipate difficulties with coping strategies.
Stay in the present."I can do this afternoon! This hour! The next five minutes!"
Your lifting friend,
Denis
Chris, thank you for the friend request and for your help concering home gym equipment. I appreciat both! Best of luck with all your fitness goals...you hardly look like you're in your 60s!! Merry Christmas!
Hey Chris, very cool that you are going to compete at the Northern Kentucky Championships. That comp has been posted at my gym for a few weeks but I'll be sticking close to home in 2010 with MI shows. -Jeff
