Two years ago I could not do five consecutive push-ups.(Now I can) I could not even hang from a chinning bar for longer than five seconds, so a chin-up was out of the question.(Now I can) I was almost 215 lbs of 24% B.F. My blood pressure was 170/95 and cholesterol was 210. It was time to do something after almost seven years of sedentary existence...(So, I did!)
After 27 months; bp 125/75, cholesterol 128. Wt. 170 BF%9.5-11
Why I Love It:
My best hour+/- of the day is when I'm exercising. All aches and pains subside for that all too brief period of the day.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing the gains in strength and loss of fat. It feels great to be able to do everyday tasks more efficiently. I am also motivated by seeing the progress and success of others. There are so many success stories on this site.
BB Accomplishments:
September 26,2009 OCB Mr. Natural Indiana; 5th Place- 50 and over division.
Building time. See if I can be ready for a show next spring.
Goal (Long):
Hopefully build another 5-7 pounds of muscle while maintaining a less than 10% BF reading. Maybe enter another bodybuilding comp in spring or summer of 2010.Possibly the Northern KY Classic in March. If not the Circle City Classic in May.
I watched Ken compete in the first show I had ever seen in Indy. I knew then that's what I wanted to do. He is also one of the few people on here that I have actually met and talked with face to face. Great guy, who knows his stuff.
My first contest, Mr. Natural Indiana, was a memorable experience. I competed only in the Grandmaster Division (50 & over), as I didn't want to overload my circuits the first time out with crossovers into other divisions..
I placed 5th of 6 competitors and was quite pleased with...
I just read about your wife's passing. That's tough. I appreciate the strength you've drawn from your faith. That is really the only source of true support. My thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend.
Hey Chris, good to hear from you. You in the mass building phase now? It was going good for me till my workout, then this pain from under my left shoulder blade running all the way under my left pec...but hey, it only hurts when I breath lol
