When I Started: Nov, 2006
How I Started: 1 day, I didn't do my homework... so the most awesome teacher I've ever had gave me a dention for not doing it. So, a few days later I stay after school to serve the detention(on a Friday). My Mom (Kelly Marlowe) made me walk home since I got the detention. So I go walking home from the side of the school up to the Blockhouse parking lot. I saw my friend Joel Curry there shivering in the cold with this 1 dude "Steak". I said hey "whats up, why are you guys out here?". They answered "We're waiting for wrestling practice to start, Hey, Matt... you should join wrestling." "Ok, Let me call and ask my mom if i can stay." I called my mom and she said I could stay. I hung up. "So Matt, what did your mom say?" She said no... "Awman, thats ok Matt."... so I continue my way home. I called my friend so I could see if I was allowed to go spend the night at his house, and I was allowed. so later, much later... I finally decide that next Monday(in 3 days)I'm gonna start wrestling. So over at my friend Travis's house, we had a wrestle fest! Later into the night we got into a big fight and I left(my choice). So I go to school Monday, and I told joel I wanted to wrestle. That day I joined wrestling... and since then coach Hideg made us start conditioning. I needed a lot of conditioning! So for Christmas, I asked for a weight bench and I got 1!!! YEA ME!

Why I Love It: Help's me, to get better at Wrestling. Help's to increase stamina, strength, ability, agility and focus!
How I Stay Motivated: By setting a bar, and keep trying to I reach my daily goal!

I wrestled one of the best matches I ever wrestled in and I shown A LOT of improvement since last year!
-I was on my back and the kid was able to pin me in the first period(preview=how IT continued)
But after that I was Getting some escapes and reversals then I was on my back again and it seemed like forever... he did not pin me... and before the match... I thought I would have no hope at all because this guy looked strong and a ton times better than me!

I've been praying and praying to God to give me a match soon and today my prayer was answered. It's the first I've gotten to wrestle in awhile. I am so happy! Then when I found out today I'm wrestling, I prayed that I would win. I'm not good at take downs... so I was on my back a lot. I was almost pinned a few times. But yet again, God answered my prayers and I pinned him!!
So I want to give all the glory to God!

Today was my first Varsity match.
I wrestled a girl...
against my own will!
and I pinned her, and we won our Match!

I got the confidence today to put 100lbs on my bar, I tried to bench it expecting bad results and I actually could bench it 3 REPS!! thats excellent for someone my size!

Open Mats just started back up again.
We have Practice for one hour on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30. It isn't mandatory but It's good to go to!

Today to start it off on a good note, I got a sub for the worse teacher ever, then I got to leave school early. My mom picked me up and then we went to the mall to get my permit test. When I was taking the test I skiped 3 questions because I didn't know the answer to them, and I had gotten 32 right and 9 wrong so far. i had to get this one right to pass the test... You're only allowed to get 10 wrong then if u get 11 wrong the computer shutsdown and the test is over. So I prayed and asked God if he could help me get the question right so I wouldn't fail the test. And I thought for awhile, and then I chose an answer and I got it right!! Thanks to God I got my permit!!
Then later that night was my Wrestling banquet. So I didn't know what to expect next. Then when it came time to annouce the who Letterd, I was the third one to go up toget my Varsity Letter and Pin.
That has to be one of the top 15 or atleast 30 best days of my life!!!

Recently... all I've been able to bench is 105lbs... and sometimes if I'm lucky I could do it twice, but not always. Last Friday I tried to murder my arms the best I could so I could barely lift a thing... Now today I have recovered fully enough and I had the balls to try 110lbs. I got everything set up, got on the bench, then I lifted it off the bar... I benched it once. Then I set it back on the bar. I was so happy I prayed to God and thanked him!!! One of my goals is to be able to bench 115 before 6-1-2008. Then I tried benching it again 3 minutes later, and I did it again! Then I tried like 15 minutes after that with my dad and I couldn't do it then. After about 10-30 minutes after that decided to bench till I couldn't lift at all. Hopefully I gain some mass!!!

Today I wrestled my first Varsity match. It was Liberty Vs. JFK  and i was the last match! If I'd lose.... the team would lose. If I'd win... the team would win. The funny part of it is.. I had to wrestle a girl.... I couldn't believe it... I did not want to wrestle her! All today and...

I do every Station for 20 seconds non-stop, right after another.
