I started working out because I was unhappy with my body. I was 5'10" 250lbs and my bmi was a 30. I spent almost 8 full months dieting and doing tons of cardio trying to lose the weight. After 8 months my weight was down to 150lbs and my bmi was under a 7. At that point my body finally crashed. I had no energy and no muscle. I played baseball, football, and wrestled, most of my life but the crash dieting left my body in ruins. Since then I have taken on a much healthier diet and regularly lift weights at my local gym.
Why I Love It:
Discipline, dedication, pride, determination, desire, and enough humility to understand I may never be perfect but I can always try.
How I Stay Motivated:
I try to make my workouts very challenging. After I leave the gym I feel like I have really accomplished something. The rest of the day just seems much easier after my workout.
I want to finish a clean bulk to 195 and then cut to 180 and finish under 7% BMI.
Goal (Long):
I want to spend the next few years training. I want to gain 5-10 lbs of solid muscle a year until I reach a solid 195 with my BMI around 6%. After I reach those goals I would like to compete at least once.
Okay so I really didn't lift much at the gym today. I did a few sets of assisted chins, but that was about it. Today was mostly about cardio since I have been stuck in the house for the past few days after having had my wisdom teeth cut out. I'm still not 100%. My face was so swollen...
