I believe theres no room for bullshit so heres my story.
I used to be a drug addict and alcoholic, smoked meth everyday and every hour, got arrested a handful of times. And within the last year my last time in jail was 4 1/2 months. Being 6'9 and a 225 pound tweeker, going to jail all these guys are telling me how if i just worked out i could be big and so forth. So in abiding by the racial politics in jail of a mandatory Wood(Caucasian) workout everyday of 123 burpies(a type of cardio/pushup workout) i could only do 20 decent reps before i crashed to the floor. My "car"(as well as i) thought this umm, lets just say embarrassing and i worked my way up to 123 burpies everyday. Being off drugs and actually eating food, i gained weight and notice a ball starting to form in my arm haha. And i liked it. Moving from the first facility to a neighboring one, one that wich the Wood "car" had no mandatory workout i started working out with the mexicans, a little bit, but then just started doing regular pushups. Got up to 400 pushups a day.Thats where the idea of working out got started in my head. Long story short i got out, fulfilled my probations request to goto rehab. BUT in the time i had to wait to goto rehab i just started drinking....ALOT of beer, i was up to 320 pounds by the time i left to a residential rehab. Well, this certain rehab has a large property wich included a weight pile of donated old rusty weights (it was outside and weather was never quite friendly) Being there for 4 more months working out everyday i could in a split routine with the select few weights they aloud us to have, as well as doing alot of reading from magazines like FLEX, M&F, and Planet M. also a book called Nutrient Timing. I was alound also to have my own food which meant alot of whey protein and tuna. The tuna being my food when i chose not to eat they food the gave us. I also used it for the 5-7 meals a day sense they only supplied 3 squares. I've now been out for 2 weeks and weigh 243 pounds and
continue to goto the gym i can afford...
My goal now is to keep my life on the good path im going, and to learn more sense i am still fairly new at this and my mind is open to learn to all those who car to help.
Why I Love It:
Its keeping me off drugs the used to destroy my body. It gives me a high like no other you can buy on the streets and its priceless. I feel good about my self in my own skin when i workout and see results. I love reading about it. I love
how good i feel and i dont need a fix to feel that "hole" in my life. I just go to the gym, i read about it, i get involved....
How I Stay Motivated:
Reading, Learning, and hearing my family and some sober friends say "whoa" or even when the ask to come workout with me because they are impressed to see...that the lazy paul they know, is more fit then they are..
BB Accomplishments:
Mile ran in 7 min 44 seconds.
Loosing weight 320lbs to 227.8lbs.
Just 30 more pounds till i bench the 300.
TO be at my best fit level Ever...i was out of shape in highschool, and even before, i was either a fat kid or a drug addict. Now i wanna be like Lee Preist or better....I want to have 8% body fat, and i dont even know how thats possible yet, maybe not even for my body type? I want to be apart of the 300 Bench club by the time i'm 23-24. I want to deadlift at least 400 but the end of next year. I also want six pack to show! maybe even go gutsy and go for the 8 pack....
Great news on the 100lb weight loss goal.
As for me, I have similar situation - my back, chest and shoulders are not growing in strength/size but legs are.
Very welcome and well deserved and hope all is going well with you. As to goals U might as well go for the Arnie look because at 6'9" you'll never look like Lee Priest HA lol , well except for the best arms in the business i my opinion. Keep us updated on your progress. Andre
Transformation on the body is more than impressive already. Building an impressive physique. The BIGGEST transformation is in your statement " I feel good about myself in my own skin". THAT right there makes you a winner. Everything else is icing on the cake for you. WITH SPLENDA of course, CONGRATS. Andre
Paul
I've just seen your progress pictures - you've totally transformed over the past 6 months. You are a lot leaner than you were in December and judging by your avatar picture your arms are bigger, too. Well done for sticking with it - you have every reason to feel proud with your achievements

Hi Paul, thanks for the reply! Keep writing it all down and every three months look back through your notes and write a summary listing everything you've made progress in.
