When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
I started working out late January in 2008 as part of a strong desire to change my life. I had always been overweight and I just wanted to change the way I looked, and be healthy.
Why I Love It:
It started out as a way to lose weight, but it became a lot more. I now crave the gym. Each day I look forward to the moment where I get to feel the iron in my hands. I love seeing how my body is constantly improving, and how I'm in increasing weights in every exercise I do. The pumps are intense, it's a rush, the best medicine to cure you of daily problems.
Bodybuilding started out merely as an effort to stop being overweight. It's now a full fledged obsession, everything from my diet, my supplements, and my actual workouts are all worth it. It's the best lifestyle.
How I Stay Motivated:
I generally stay motivated by browsing BB.com forums and seeing everyone improving their body. It motivates me to do the same with mine. I also love seeing how I am progressing, and how my muscles are growing. I also get a lot of motivation from my friends and family to continue lifting and eating healthy.
BB Accomplishments:
I've been lifting for around 9 months now and that is an accomplishment in itself. I'm ecstatic that I have been dedicated and continued to keep lifting weights and improving my diet.
So far I have also lost considerable amounts of fat, and my weight has dropped around 20 lbs. I've also gained a lot more muscle mass and I'm constantly increasing in lifts.

"The tragedy of life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goals to reach."
I took this picture the first day I started lifting weights. I was 6 feet tall weighing 197 lbs and tired of the way I looked.
Taken a little over one year into working out. Around 15-16 months of weightlifting. I'm happy with my progress, but I feel like I could have done A LOT more in this time span. I've learned a lot in my first year of lifting though, and hopefully another year will bring even better results.
Clean bulk till February and then do a nice, slow cut.
Goal (Long):
Currently I am overweight with BF% in the 20's, my goal is to have an athletic physique with BF% around 10-13% and visible abs, bis, tris, traps, delts, obliques, etc. I want this goal accomplished within 1 year.
Additionally, I want to look good when I don't have a shirt on, namely at the beach or pool. When wearing clothes I want the clothes to look good on me, and have a waist size of 32 inches or less (currently I have 34).
