How I Started:
Every since I was little girl I remember loving the look of muscles. I remember watching Conan the Barbarian, Commando and Red Sonja thinking I was going to marry Arnie. (I still love you baby)
I've always wanted to be active, it was not reinforced in my family AT ALL so when I grew up and gained weight(inevitable w/ all the soul food and no exercise), I naturally leaned towards weight training as a way to achieve the look that I've always admired.
Why I Love It:
It changes my mood and attitude drastically. I've found a peace and self confidence in being healthy. When I'm not I feel out of control and depressed.
Gosh and when I'm able to finish some things I didn't think I would be able to do I feel like the ish!
How I Stay Motivated:
I guess just staying on the grind. Making it thru each day making my workout and getting all my meals motivates me. When I miss something I get kinda in the dumps about it. Since I've been on bodyspace this place has been a real motivator. Also, setting myself up for events keeps me looking toward the future. I don't want to be the fattest arse there like I have been in the past so it motivates me to keep it up. I don't know ...still figuring this one out. I think I need to keep myself in scheduled events and make it kind of a social thing too.

Ninabeenachanged Weight from 174 lbs. to 168 lbs., a 6 lb. loss in 35 days
Ultimately I want this lifestyle to become a natural 2nd nature to me. I would like to obtain my certification for personal training and live a more active fit, free life where I can wear what i want without hesitation do what I want with my body without limitation and feel completely comfortable and confident in my own skin again.
As for specifics I'm looking forward to tight legs, ab muscles that show, shoulder caps and a bicep peak :-)
What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
It depends on what the grunt sounds like. Sometimes it really does help you eeek out those reps

What type of outfit do you usually wear when you workout? Why?
Stretch pants/caprii's and a cute fitted tshirt w/ matching sneakers. Its comfy. I don't like to look dumpy just because I'm at gym. I'm a cute gym goer if I don't say so myself.
I'm starting the wheels in motion to develop a plan to keep myself healthy while pregnant. This first five months I have been pretty sendentary. According to the pregnancy books its in these next weeks that I am to gain the most weight and that's cool; it's suppose to happen that way. However...

AH! You're pregnant!? CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so happy for you. And I'm glad to hear you're thinking about taking care of yourself. Believe me, those extra pounds will sneak up on you and before you know it you're 200 lbs and feeling like a whale LOL
