Overall Goal: If you ask me what I came into this world to do, I will tell you. I came to live out loud.

When I Started:
Jan, 2006
How I Started:
Honestly, I just jumped right in. Did not have a clue what I was doing. No experience other than high school weight lifting that was required for conditioning (basketball & track). Therefore, I was not lifting heavy enough and was not getting proper nutrition to see real progress.
Why I Love It:
It is a constant challenge. I compete ag. myself. It is about me overcoming myself. Every week I try to lift heavier than I did the week before. I consistently try to raise the bar, push harder, and strive for more. Lift heavy, lift hard, repeat ad lib.
How I Stay Motivated:
Right now, my motivation is not difficult to maintain. My diet discipline, however is a challenge. I realize that others are watching me and looking up to me. This helps me to keep my eating in check to not only accomplish my personal goals, but to be an encouragement to others that they can do the same.
BB Accomplishments:
My trainer told me she wants my biceps.

In order to become a champion, you must be willing to pay a price that is far greater than your competition will ever have to pay.

Goal (Long):
I want to look and feel like the athlete that I am in my heart. I want to be in a body (temple) that will allow me to glorify God and live my life to its maximum potential. Ultimately, I wish to surpass self-imposed, preconceived notions of who I am and what I can accomplish.
I am feeling so positive about this. 5 weeks out and the weight is coming off at a good rate. Averaging a 2lb/wk loss while maintaining size is tougher than I thought. Cardio is ridiculous. This week, I am doing 50 min. of cardio 6 x/wk. Seems easier on paper. Getting in the 6th session on...
For the next six months, at least, I am fully under the tutelage of my trainer. We are working on max weight, low reps. Surprisingly, after the first week (8/27), she is finding this more of a challenge than she originally anticipated. I am inordinately pleased. I have gained a lot of strength...

It took me about 38 years... maybe I am growing up a little and putting things in perspective? Thanks for the comment. You have some good quotes that I read on your page, cool stuff. I wish you the best at reaching your goals!
