I gained some weight working a desk job and eating VERY unhealthily. I got sick of being fat and tired, so I went on the Atkins diet in January 2003 and bought a treadmill. At first, I would only do 30 minutes of walking 3 to 4 times a week. I lost 25 pounds but was just a smaller version of my fat self. In October 2004, I joined a gym. I started weight training two days a week on top of running on the treadmill for 45 minutes 5 days a week. I fell in love with weight training and wanted to get certified as a personal trainer. I ended up mentoring under a trainer and getting my AFAA certification in April 2005. I have been training ever since.
I got my ACSM certification in December 2007.
Why I Love It:
It gives me a sense of accomplishment and helps me to beat my demons. Nothing feels better than getting a good sweat on and seeing your muscles pumped.
How I Stay Motivated:
I made it my job. I have no excuses. No one wants to be trained by an out of shape trainer.
BB Accomplishments:
Putting on 10 lbs of muscle in a years time.

This was taken in 2002 before I began my health and fitness journey. Can you say "EWWW!"
My quads hurt SO bad... especially walking down stairs. Did Plyometrics with a friend on Friday! It was an awesome workout - definitely reached fatigue. I just hadn't done them in like six months!!!! It's a good hurt though - the kind were you know you hit it hard!
