When I Started:
Sep, 2008
How I Started:
Waking up one morning after doing my semi-normal "maintain" workout and realizing that I have NEVER been in peak physical condition.
Why I Love It:
I'm starting to realize that I love hitting the gym and lifting heavier weights because it gives me a strong sense of what I may be capable of. I love thinking about my potential. Lifting and getting in shape actually helps me realize that potential and broadens my mind to what else may be in store.
I have also pretty much always been a loner. This gives me the ultimate in "I can do it for myself" feelings. There is no one else that I can blame for my body not being the way I want it to be. I am in complete control... of both the success or the failure - which is something I believe in whole heartedly.
Working out also helps my mood. ALOT. And lets face it.. Looking good is just something most people want. I like to look good too.
How I Stay Motivated:
I want to see what I can become without extra drugs/supplements/protein in a jar/etc.
Little by little my motivation is starting to come from all the stories and successes of the people on this site. Realizing that everyday people can get the bodies they want is a big boost. Even though this site is also visited by your share of retards like any other site... there are quite a few inspirational stories and people here that make you wanna do much better for yourself. It simply creates a way for you to derive your own motivation from seeing the motivation of others.
BB Accomplishments:
Not a damn thing. lol

What NewView Is Up To:
Feb 9, 2009
NewViewchanged Weight from 184 lbs. to 180.5 lbs., a 3.5 lb. loss in 61 days
Look in the mirror and tell that guy, "you're doing your best -- good job".
Goal (Long):
Long term, I'd like to hit 360 bench press and get to the point where a six pack is at least slightly visible without flexing. I'd also like to up the amount of cardio I can do without being dog tired.
Well, I'm back from what we call the sandbox. Happy to be back with wifey and happy to once again start thinkin' about hittin' the gym. Consistent gym time will be slow as there are much more important things that will take the front seat during the next one to two months. I am still...
It's great hearing from you. It's got to feel good to be back home. I hope you and yours are making the transition smoothly. I'm looking forward to seeing some progress once you get back in the gym. I guess those pull-ups and chin-ups are having an impact. I had cut out so many push-ups, but added them back because my chest was (and still is lagging). The planche training has also helped. Always glad to hear from you. Stay in touch.
I'm doing great! thanks for stopping by thank you for fighting for this country and the freedom of the people. may God bring you home safe God bless you!
Stopping through to say Happy 2009 to you. May you and yours have the very best of the year! Thank you and your fellow service men and women you for what you do for our country. Welcome home!
So good to hear from you...I'm sure your looking forward to coming home. I'm still working it...been hitting it real hard lately after bulking, trying to lean out now and see wut's there. Have a blessed day and stay safe!
Good plan. I do the same thing. Worrying and complaining often gets you nowhere and just makes you feel more uncomfortable. Focusing on the here and now will help your stress levels for sure.
Yeah, I guess you've got a point there. And once you move back you'll be able to settle into a training routine again so no worries. Everything with me is going okay. No major complaints. I'm just enjoying the NFL season, hitting the gym, waiting for the holidays, and taking it day by day. How's everything else for you?
Awesome, man. I bet you cannot wait. Will you be back state side for good or just temporarily? How are your workouts going? Getting stronger? The weather in GA has been pretty normal - cool but not real cold.
wow! That is so weird, I have never heard of an acorn shortage:( We have squirrels all over our state, I watch them run around our house in the morning. It would be such a bummer if they became extinct. Our planet is going through some interesting changes and I agree we should focus on it more.
