Deep Creek High Attended 1998 to 2001 Chesapeake, Virginia United States
When I Started:
Oct, 2001
How I Started:
I was a great track athlete in highschool and college. The thing that really got me was when I saw the movie "pumping iron" I was a freshman in college at the time and I was already a huge fan of arnold and I had never seen this movie before. I was lucky enough to be at a university that had a club powerlifting team. With heavy compound movements I learned how to build a big physique without the use of steroids, hgh, or prohoromones.
Why I Love It:
It keeps you healthy and teaches you alot about yourself. Also meeting friends and helping them achieve goals and learning from others. I started the bodygroup LUNK ALARM as a way to praise motivated people who are here on bodyspace keeping track of their strength and achieving their goals. Please read more about the bodygroup lunk alarm
How I Stay Motivated:
Once you see your results it is easy to be motivated. making friends in the gym, setting and achieving goals, and competeing makes it alot of fun. I constantly change up my workouts to incorporate something I never used before. I switch up my workouts every three months.
BB Accomplishments:
usapl collegiate nationals 4th place 2005
usapl battle on the boarder 2009 1st place and all time top 3
usapl raw nationals 242 3rd place. Getting invited to the Arnold Sports Festival (2010)
remain drug free
deadlift 700
squat 600
bench 400 with pause
20 inch arms
compete at the arnold sports festival
Goal (Long):
As far as powerlifting I will continue to compete in the USAPL under the IPF. But only in the raw division because I have too many other goals to concentrate on and dont have time to learn how to use gear or train with gear. Goals are very important. Being shredded and ripped is not really my direction. I want to have a powerful physique. At the same time I don't want to have a large powerlifter belly. So I am trying to get the best of both worlds. I currently want to get large lats and upper back and arms. If anyone has any tips for arm growth let me know please.
2-10 I train for power and for growth. my compound movements are in a lower rep range than my isolation movements. compound movements get 2 warmups and 3-4 working sets. Isolation movements get 1 warm up and 1 to 2 working sets with intensity.2-10 I train for power and for growth. my compound movements are in a lower rep range than my isolation movements. compound movements get 2 warmups and 3-4 working sets. How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
whatever is conveniant. I find that tempo of the workout and volume of the workout do not directly affect the intensity. I can make a set more intense if I take a longer rest so that is what I tend to do.whatever is conveniant. this year I have come across a workout that has added one inch to my arms 17.5 to now 18.5 inches without anytype of drugs or prohoromones. for six months this is all I did for arms. the secret to this workout is to use very heavy weight and giving them no time to rest....
No, I quit running but not jumping rope...no way LOL I only do cardio two days a week though...weights are the other three days of the week :) How's your training been going lately?
I started working out in 2000 and starting working out hard in 2004! So about ten years, at 210 ten, but still leaning down big time! Thanks for asking!
LOL Well I think a picture of me doing weights is as close as you're gonna get :) I just ran a few half marathons this past summer...don't run anymore though...only jump rope now :)
Thanks for the compliment but I do not have intentions of ever competing in powerlifting. If I were to take up another sport it would be along the lines of what I used to do.
