When I Started:
Jan, 2007
How I Started:
When i was a kid growing up in England i wanted to be a Royal Marine. I trained all the time, Rugby in school, Swimming, martial arts, the lot. Then i injured my knee and had to hit the gym for recovery. I loved it, the pump was like a drug! At Uni i studied Sport Exercise and Health Science, and decided to become a Personal Trainer. I moved to South Africa and started working in a gym that was big on body building. I had the theory, and decided to put it into practice. Now here i am!
Why I Love It:
I love the dedication, disipline, passion and drive it takes to get to that awesome physique. It really shows character in a person. It's also such a great way to meet people, and stay relaxed. There's no stress relief like pumping more and more kgs each week.
How I Stay Motivated:
Staying motivated is easy when you train hard and eat clean - when you bust your goals, and push more every session its great. There is nothing more motivating than reaching your targets and HAVING to set new ones!
BB Accomplishments:
No major accomplisments as yet but keep your eys open as they're gonna come, and come naturally!
Forum Signature:
Another day, a new muscle to hit.
Another workout, and New movements to perform.
New goals to reach, new challenges to over come.
The only constant is the Iron.
200lbs is always 200lbs.
I want to walk on stage in 2008 for the first time - and blow them away!
Goal (Long):
By 2008 i want to have built a perfectly proportioned, inspiring body. The kind of physique that everyone in the gym can't help but notice, and that others look to aspire to. I want to add around 8 to 10 kgs of lean muscle - or as much or little as it takes to build the proportions i need to win. Watch this space people - i intend to inspire and impress!
What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
If you're pushing heavy or working toward failure, then some aggresive manly grunts never hurt anyone!

What bicep workout has worked best for you?
I've found biceps react well to both heavy lifting as well as the lighter more exhaustive giant sets. I alternate week by week between 4 movements heavy lifting - standing EZ bar curls, Standing hammer curls, dumbell twist curls, and preacher curls. 3 sets of 6 to 10 on each move.
The next week i'll use the same 4 moves, but replace preacher curls with reverse bar curls, and perform a 12 rep giant set, cycling through 3 times.I've found biceps react well to both heavy lifting as well as the lighter more exhaustive giant sets. I think Frank Sinatra said it best when he said, "I did it MY WAAAAAAAAAY"
My training partner runs his own business, and recently had a new member of staff join. He of course was busy for the week, and didnt make it to the gym....that however was over 2 weeks ago now. Now we...
I am Currently massing for 2008 so need as much rest per muscle as possible.
Im a big believer in listening to your body so my movements change on a daily/weekly basis.
I have a set muscle each day, however if one group feels like its lagging then I will throw one movement at it.
After my...
