Originally I was in the Navy working in Special Ops, and met a great friend that taught me a lot about fitness and nutrition. I went from 183 to 150 on an 8 week program in the summer of 2000. I ended up wrecking my motorcycle on Aug 2001 and kissed my body good bye. I went from a nice 163 to 240 in four month, my hunger was still the same but I couldn’t walk for 2 months. I went from running 8mi to huffing and puffin on a 1 1/2 mi run. I saw all the hard work disappear before my eyes. My motivation went out the door. I tried to exercise, but got bored and was tired. Diets failed or I would cheat. I was able to get back down to 200lbs and left the Navy in 2004, for the next two years I tried to be a civilian and go to school. We ended up getting into so much debt that my stress kept building up and up, causing my body to produce more cortisol leading to more depression. I finally joined the ARMY were I ended up breaking both legs, due to my body not being up to the standards and stress of the Army, I went through 6 month of physical therapy and broke again, just when the Army was about to kick me out, they gave me one more chance. Once getting to my new duty station I then find out I have high Cholesterol and Triglycerides. So among now being at risk for heart disease I can not run as well. I have met the standard but I must now work my body up and retrain it to handle the stress. As of Feb 2008 I weighed in at 209 and 22% body fat being at my maximum. Being deployed to Iraq has given me plenty of time to think. I have re-evaluated my life and ready to now get my life and fitness on track. I recently was introduced to Hugo Rivera on a web blog and he has inspired me to transform my body it to a lean mean Army Machine. I am working out everyday or twice a day and track my diet very closely. I am even studding to become a Certified Personal Trainer through ISSA the same as Hugo. My wife and is a big motivator for me as she also is a fitness nut. She has gone through an Amazing transformation. My goal is to get my body fat down to 8% and bring my physique to that of Hugo Rivera in 12 month. I would love to receive emails from motivated and dedicated individuals and help people as the same.

What is your favorite cardiovascular exercise? Why?
I love Elipticals, you can jam on them hard and not worry about pounding your knees. Most machines have many preprogramed workouts and keeps a great variety in your workouts. I also job, not very into it but the right music can get you in the mood! Hate the Bike and stair stepper.I love Elipticals, you can jam on them hard and not worry about pounding your knees. Well it’s been a grueling week but I did it. Well kind of. Being in the Army you need to be a certain weight at your height. Well After coming back from 18days of R&R, I came back to Iraq a little on the Heavy side. After all I moved Apts, and had a baby boy that was 1 day old when I...
Thanks for the offer. I'm looking for an advice and motivation available. I'm just getting going regularly this week now, so the next few weeks will be critical in building habits. I initially added you because it sounded like we had some reasons for this in common. Good luck to you.
So how's Carson? I sure do miss being there. I spent allot time there myself. It is for sure a great place to get in shape. Lots to do and if you are crazy enough run up Pikes Peak. Good luck dude!
A great way to get in the shape you want is by following the Body for Life program. My wife (bodyspace: judimax) went from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 and I lost over 50 lb’s and went from 36% to 10% bodyfat during the 12 week program. I suggest you give it a look-see and decide what you think. I believe that by using their weightlifting, cardio & nutrition program you will be amazed at the changes and the speed at which they can occur. Give me a yell if you wish.
It is up to you to be, do it, don't stop, make for the first month, change it don't get bored, keep pushing yourself, second month, do it, change your program look for variety, third month, you are hooked! Man you have everything in favour. Regards
Takes time and courage Michael to take a look at one self and make a decision. Congratulations, stick to the plan, including diet and weight program. Good luck.
