When I Started:
Mar, 2008
How I Started:
Had gained a significant amount of weight in a short period of time, and stopped working out which left me tired, depressed, etc. I had always wanted to work out more but was very self conscious. In March 2008 I had my annual check up with my doctor and basically he told me I was still healthy (good cholestorol, blood pressure, etc) but if I didn't lose the weight now it will be a problem later in life. I had come to reality with the fact that the scale said 260lbs...and that is not who I wanted to be. My mind was made up...I left the doctor, went home to change into work out clothes, then went and joined a gym that day.
Why I Love It:
Working out is a big confidence builder for me. I love that slight soreness you have in your muscles the day after a workout. Also, working out helps keep my eating in check...if I just finished an intense cardio workout I'm not apt to go stuff my face with bad foods and ruin my hard work.
How I Stay Motivated:
I remember how I felt when I was at my lowest...the embarrassment, sadness, etc...and of course look at the pictures from that time (even though they are few and far between). Also, when I get on the stair master I remember the first time I ever got on it and could not even do 5 mins w/o feeling like I was going to die. Now I stay on for 30 and push myself harder when I feel fatigued. Many a times I had been told "You're built like a line backer" because I am not some tiny petite chick that weighs 95 lbs. I'm so over that....and want to see how much I can change my body with lifting.
BB Accomplishments:
I've lost 50 lbs. My cardio endurance has incresed significantly. I've learned to embrace and enjoy the fact that I have strong muscles.
Her transformation is impressive and extremely motivating. Tiffany is now strong and beautiful which is just where I want to get. She inspires me to realize I can get the body I want if I work for it.
3 weeks ago I switched from the very small privately owned gym by my house to LA Fitness. I was very unhappy with the gym I was going to for a few months which resulted in me making every possible excuse in the book to not go. Finally listenedd to my friends and joined LA Fitness since I have...
