Typical sob story: used to be skinny, got tired of it. I took a weight lifting class in school and it really got me into it. I bought some home dumbells and I went from there.
Why I Love It:
I love the tight feeling you get in your muscles, knowing that you're improving. And I love seeing results.
How I Stay Motivated:
It's hard but I usually think back to when I was anorexic (135 lbs at 5'11") and I think of how much progress I've made since then.
BB Accomplishments:
Six unassisted wide-arm pull ups. Swoll back, here I come!
All my life I've really wanted to feel like I can handle myself. Not exactly look like the ads but look good in my eyes. I want to feel confident around women and I want to be able to fill out those stubborn shirt sleeves that never seem to fit right. I would like to be 175 pounds, with 8% body fat and I wanna join the 45 Plate Club.
Well I thought I'd give this a try. I started lifting weights in tenth grade for a mandatory high school class and I really got into it. Unfortunatly I didn't know squat about nutrition or proper form, they just kind of threw us some barbells and told us to have fun.
Keep it up ! You seem to be EXACTLY what I used to be about 4-5 months ago. My starting weight was 145lbs now up to 160lbs(about your current weight). With out the use of creatine I can bench 205lbs, but with the use of creatine I can bench 225lbs. Work out hard and have someone to spot you as you get stronger.
As far as the "look" in the eyes...a lot of that has to do with life experience. I work in law enforcement so I have that look because it's part of my job. I can tell you the fastest way to get the "confident" look in your eyes is to MAKE yourself do things you're afraid of. When that fear is gone, your eyes will be clear and confident and will even make some people uncomfortable. Talk to women you're afraid to talk to...PUSH yourself. You're only in highschool ONE TIME.
I know you can hit 200lbs no problem, man. I was 117lbs when I started. I've been as high as 185 before, but wanted to get really ripped so I dropped back down. If I can put on about 70lbs I know you can put on another 45 at your height.
