When I Started:
Jan, 1998
How I Started:
I was physically active throughout elementary and high school. After college I gained weight and started going to the gym. My body responded well and I was told I should compete. The rest is history.
Why I Love It:
I have a Love/Hate relationship with training. When life is good, I love to train and it's like breathing. When stressd it becomes a chore and I have to make myself train b/c all I want to do is eat and look at TV!
How I Stay Motivated:
A family history of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and obesity. Going to various websites and looking at fitness/figure physiques.
Remembering where I came from and how hard I had to work to get back in shape.
BB Accomplishments:
Walking back on stage after 8 yrs. of not competing. Loosing 38 pounds in 13 weeks.

I just luv DM!!! I don't even know 1/2 her story and I'll tell you what...what I do know makes think b4 I complain!!! She pushes hard regardless of the obstacle!!!
Why do you like having a workout partner? What are the benefits?
It's easier when you have someone to train w/ especially on those days when you just don't feel like training. My training partner gives me lots of encouragement on those days I'm dragging.

What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
Sometimes it's annoying and unnecessary in my opinion. No.
Well, today I'm 11 weeks out from North Americans!! Nothing major to report for the week. This past week's plan was pretty much the same except for the addition of NEPA- Non Exercise physical Activity. A new one for me too....basically it's non-strenuous activities such as walking, yard work,...
Hey, thanks for the compliment! Normally, the carb loads suupose to last between 24-48 hours. However last weekend, I got fustrated and atesome carbs on Monday. I have been thinking about dropping down to one day.
What are your thoughts?
Fitdiva , you are the bomb girl! I love your physique. I can't wait to build and get to your level. I read your blog ...hehe, cardio is no fun . I feel ya on the 3 hours plan, I did that for my recent show, came in lean but I think I did waaaay too much cardio! Have a safe, fun weekend! Stay blessed JenCan
My kids are on auto pilot for this last month. Hubby makes the meals so no temptation for me. They go out to eat without me. Only a few more weeks then I got a cheap meal with my name on it.
Theyre coming along, fell of a for a while had a cold, and when I wasnt sick I couldnt go running because its been raining in Philly like it should in Seattle. But we have a nice lil heat wave comin up, so Im ready to go!!!!
You got it, KP! I went to a baseball game last nite...and you would've been proud. No nachos, no chili fries, no onion rings. Let's be strong together!
I'm good. Just taking things one day at a time. Still hoping to compete next year. Like you aways say, I'm still trying to be cute lol. How is your prep going? You excited about August?
