Feb, 2008
How I Started:
Ok- I used to do a LOT of drugs. I did them for about 6 or 7 years. Of course I was skinny and fit- my appetite was never really that big, and I always had somewhere else to be, and something else to do. I wasn't exactly one of those super skinny druggies, I was always toned, had a nice muscle structure. This is because I WAS ALWAYS DOING SOMETHING. I always had a lot of energy.
So anyways, about 2 years ago I met someone special who is straight edge, no drugs (&no ifs, ands, or buts...) I took the plunge into being sober (how boring??)
At first I worked out a lot for about 6 months after being sober, and then I looked really good!! I was eating healthy, working out, got a job at a bank. My life seemed smooth. Well, then I got a foot injury (athletic fracture) I was always 'light' on me feet, but I jumped around a lot like a monkey. UNFORTUNATELY at this same time I was getting ready to move across the country, so I started getting scared and anxious. Since I couldn't work out all of these worries, and since I always have to be doing SOMETHING, I started to eat when I was bored.
This just started a downward spiral...
I have been (more or less) remaining sober, which is a feat in itself, and still hard most of the time. But it's time to turn my concentration back to getting healthy and feeling good.
This brings me to present day. I'm moving again, in July, and I want to be back to my old self again (minus the drugs) I used to be confident, optimistic, always smiling and happy. I want to find that person again and move forward...
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel proud of myself, I love the changes it makes physically & mentally. I would like to become a Personal Trainer and help other people feel good about themselves. After, of course, I reach my own goals :)
How I Stay Motivated:
A clear picture in my head of what I want myself to look like in the future. Also a clear picture of what I look like NOW, and want to leave in the past.

One of the first pics I took when I first started
Figured it was time to update my progress pics. This one came out a bit blurry...
I want to learn to discipline my eating habits; the root of all evil...
Goal (Long):
I used to be skinny and toned, but then I moved across the country and felt, shall we say, 'down'. This is the first time I have ever gained weight, and the first time I have struggled with my eating.
I am moving again in June, south to Cali. I want to look and feel good about myself BEFORE I move, so that I can end this downward spiral.
I want the tone, sexy, confident, independent, happy self back.
And I will get it...
But, in about 20 minutes I'm leaving for the Outdoor Lands Festival in San Francisco! AND I'M GOING TO SEE RADIOHEAD!! And Beck, and other cool bands, but Radiohead is one of my FAVES!! YAY!
yes i am that guy. Your on my friends now so you will be a victim! Fact of The Day: The spinal cord is less then two feet in length and is the same diameter as your index finger, yet it contains over 10 billion nerve cells.
hey, was just reading your profile stuff, congrats on getting off drugs, speaks volumes about your strength and drive, your progress pics are amazing to way to go!
How is your week going? Things are moving along a bit too fast for me. Trip to Dallas could have yielded better pics, but I seem to busy to properly upload what I did get. In other news, I am headed back to the weights at the end of next week, to heck with docs/injuries!
Best to you!
Just in case you make amazing progress over the next couple of days and wonder why I don't comment, I'm out of town to see the Europa and visit my Best Friend in Dallas. Best to you!

I believe the Body for Life program has one of the best eating programs around as well as a super weightlifting and cardio regime. My wife went from a size 12/14 to a 4/6 and I lost over 50 lbs and went from 36 to 10% bodyfat in just 12 weeks by following the Body for Life program. I wish you success and if there is anything that I can do to be of assistance feel free to get in touch.
