When I Started:
Mar, 2008
How I Started:
Was with my ex-gf whom i used to love very much. We were a couple for 4 years, pretty long considering I was only 18 when we hooked up. And closer towards the end I basically got played out. She cheated on me. So I ended it but gawd dayum that caused some serious heartache. During the course of the relationship I got pretty fat, lazy and when we broke up, my self-esteem just sank rock bottom. I kept thinking I'm never gonna find someone again. Looking at myself in the mirror for weeks I realized I became this fat pathetic slob, basing my life solely on the success/failure of a relationship.
I had nothing to lose so i searched for another outlet. My best friends were all into working out, i did try to get into it before but i was plain lazy. This time, however, i looked at the weight differently. I saw it and i saw peace. Being at the gym was like a sanctuary for my mind and since then, I've never looked back.
With every visit to the gym my life just fell into place again and for all the RIGHT REASONS this time. I regained perspective, I became confident, I looked better than ever, and I command a hell lot more respect these days! CANT BEAT IT XD
Why I Love It:
Its an outlet for me. Life these days is just so hectic. So much to do, so much to see, work, play, everything. GYM TIME IS MY TIME.
How I Stay Motivated:
- My bros for life - John and Hisham. The buffest guys to ever come out of our high school haha.
- The amazing people on BB :p
- Getting compliments ;)
- Being an 80's kid! We grew up watching Arnold and Stallone. The glory days of lame effects, bad lines, guns galore and massive men!
BB Accomplishments:
-Ability to actually lift myself out of the pool lol. Used to roll out.
From this day, I've officially been going to the gym consistently for the past month and a half. And I have to say I'm pretty damn happy about the progress. I can see shape forming especially around my chest and shoulders although i'm still trying get rid of the man boobs and extra flab around...
I am a big believer in full range of motion even if it means going lighter. I think alot of people cheat the range of motion to lift heavier weights. Chest=dumbbell flat bench; incline smith machine, decline barbell; 8-10 reps and I superset all with anterior and lateral delt raise with light dumbbells (15-20 reps). End with hi and low cable crossover.
Thank you so much for the friendship invite and the very nice compliment - I really appreciate it! Best wishes to you on your training. Stop by anytime!
