Overall Goal: Build and sculpt my way to 225 pounds of lean, shredded, muscle on this 5'9" frame while losing enough bodyfat to compete at least once. (It's a personal challenge.) This is not an overnight process, and I've already achieved a lot more than I once

When I Started:
Sep, 2002
How I Started:
I was FAT and not taking care of myself ... already had a bad back and bad knees. I used to wrestle and weigh about 170, but I had become a clinically obese (250# of fat), unhappy person who had NO self-confidence. I was pushed into going to a personal trainer, and I didn't realize at the time how fortunate I was. My trainer earned my trust, learned who I really was and what I really wanted, and pushed me until I got sick, if that's what it took -- two hours a day, five days a week. I worked out with him for a year, and he both saved and changed my life .. with a lot of help from me. ;)
Why I Love It:
Bodybuilding centers me, tunes out the noise and stress of everyday living, gives me clarity, puts me in touch with my primal masculinity.
I like to sweat, lift, see the pump, push it to the wall if that's what it takes. I work really hard for every achievement -- in the weightroom, with nutrition, sleeping habits, and what I DON'T do anymore .. plus all the great new things in my life. I'm man enough to get myself in the gym when it's the last place I want to be, because I know it's where I need to be. But those times are rare these days.
I've gone from an unhappy, underachieving person to a confident, powerful, rugged, MAN. Though nobody can push me around in any way (literally) again, I'll do anything within my abilities to help others who were in the place I was -- so long as their motivated to work their asses off to achieve their goals and lead a healthy life.
How I Stay Motivated:
I remember how I felt and looked when I was a fat pig, needing knee surgery, and how much life hurt -- and I look at other people who are in that place today, plus those I admire and aspire to emulate. It isn't always easy, but always worth it!
BB Accomplishments:
So far, it's going from 250# and bf% off the charts, high blood pressure and everything else to match, to a lean, muscular, strong, confident 183#. I just have alot more muscle to gain.

Goal (Long):
I'm in better shape than "average" men now, but I'm currently only competing with myself. Bodybuilding is a lifestyle for me; it grounds me and pushes my limits. It was a REALLY difficult adjustment, because it permeates everything -- but once I crossed the line, I wouldn't have it any other way! For me, bodybuilding comes first. That won't change; not everyone is okay with that -- but we each have to live in our own skin.
My goals are to pack huge, hard, defined muscles onto this frame - going for 225# under 10% bodyfat. I'll work as hard as I have to until I achieve that; also celebrate my muscles, good health, energy, people and great friends, and LIVING with purpose along the path. We only have one shot at this life!
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 45 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
10%

I do back as 2 separate bodyparts, so each gets its own workout, often on sep. days. Midback: deads/rack pulls, bb/db rows, maybe hammer row machine and rear delt fly (db, machine or cable).
Lats: pu's/pd's,(medium or facing grip), db/ez pullovers, close- or undergrip pd's or stiff arm pd's.
Sometimes, I'll dead on ham/lower back day, but I always have those or rack pulls somewhere in my routine.
5'9 at 225 dude - HELL yea is all i can say
best luck
