GaryS22 My basic main tips for you would be: sleep at least 8 hours every day, drink at least 3 litres of water per day, eat every 3hrs with a balance of carbs and proteins, do not overtrain in the gym - max 5 days per week. fittofattofit The key to gaining muscle and losing fat is not to increase your cardio, but to lift heavy. You will need to focus on the heavy compound lifts - deadlifts, squats, rows and presses - and go heavier on those at each session. As you get stronger you will be gaining muscle, that will increase your BMR ands you will find it easier to lose fat Nov 26, 2011 2:11am

calebtws That is hard for me to determine. You will fluctuate a few pounds everyday due to eating and going to the bathroom. Weigh yourself first thing in the morning before you eat anything, then do it a week later. It is generally accepted that you should be able to gain 1 solid pound of muscle each week. Matt1991 Thanks man, sorry about late response. With regards tips for bulking i would say, get to know your maintenance and always eat above that, make sure you keep increasing lifts in the gym and make sure you rest well. Most importantly do not be afraid of fat gains, this is the problem faced by most when bulking and they just end up spinning their wheels, as long as lifts and the scale number are going up then your heading in the right direction. calebtws Dont do any cardio at all. Lift heavy and keep your training sessions from 45min-1hr then get out of there and eat eat eat. High protein, High Carbs. Your body will use the carbs for energy rather than using your muscle tissue. Sep 18, 2011 5:39pm
