Blaine Senior High Attended 2005 to 2009 Blaine, Minnesota United States
When I Started:
How I Started:
My Junior year of HS i was 150 pounds and an outside linebacker for the football team, one play and I get carted off in an ambulance with a neck injury that I thought would end my life of walking. After that injury I finished the year off as a cheerer more than a player. I got up to around 160 for my senior year but was sloppily built. I decided against football and instead hit the weights hard, I got into what I thought was the best shape of my life weighing about 165. December of my senior year during a basketball game I collapsed with an overactive heart. The heart issue was a common one amongst people but it put me out of lifting for weeks until fixed, the procedure was a minor one but since it was dealing with the heart they said there would be a chance of never lifting or running strenuously again. Hearing that I was crushed and had no idea what to do. The doctors told me to take it easy for 2 weeks after the procedure and then go to the gym to test myself lightly. That day in the gym I had trainers watching to make sure I didn't collapse during a lift, thanks to my mom's warning call. Its been a little over 5 months since then and I have been in the gym with no problems with my heart.
Why I Love It:
Great stress release as well as a reminder of why I am blessed
How I Stay Motivated:
I remind myself that others would kill to have an opportunity to be able to work out, why should I slack off.
BB Accomplishments:
Overcame a neck injury, heart issue, and managed to get my BF around 10%
