I didn't know much about weight training until about 5yrs ago. I started with barely doing 10 push-ups and building up to 200 within a workout. As I progressed in strength training,I then branched off into other weight training exercises which is my main focus now- strength training and muscle building.
Why I Love It:
Brain Power! Aside from the obvious health benefits of working out, I'm extremely fascinated by the science of body chemistry and brain activity and how we can come to understand it and control it for our own progress.
How I Stay Motivated:
I think working out is above all, an exercise in will power. Every beautiful motion that stimulates muscles to grow has a driving force behind it. If we can concentrate on our bodily movement and not the pain, it becomes telekenetic. Strengthening our brains as well as our bodies. Motivation comes from inspiration for me. I usually flip through a body building magazine and read fitness articles to be inspired by the personal accounts of the will power and work effort other people have achieved. I see these people who have worked very hard on their bodies and think what a powerful will they must have. Bodybuilding is an act of learning. Strong mind follows strong body.
BB Accomplishments:
16.5" arms.

Took yesterday as a rest day. Got up this morning with a rock in my stomach from all the sweet potato I shoved down my gullet before I went to bed last night. Had a coffee, shook off that shitty feeling and poured me a big glass of water and put on my gloves and began...
That's what I keep wondering, what will 50 be like for me? I guess being this close you can't help but think about it, and even look forward to it I guess.
First time ever, both Jan King and I are competing in some sort of fitness competition. In 34+ years of working out I have never competed as a bodybuilder.
Jan is a 49 yr old mom of 7. She started with me 1/2/2008, 1 year ago. See great photos of Jan: http://www.creativecommonsense .us/b4after.html#janking
