Background
I always played every sport i could growing up including football, swimming, running and skateboarding. I got a set of weights for one xmas and slowly started from there! At first I didn't have a clue, but slowly I started to research both training and nutrition and realised what I was doing wrong. It was after this I started to make decent gains.
Its something that you can never finish, there is always something to be improved. For example take Jay Cutler, this guy is one the biggest if not THE biggest man in the world. But every year there is something he always tries to improve on, whether its size or more recently his conditioning.
