When I Started:
Aug, 1985
How I Started:
I was always flexing as a kid, I was stocky and loved having a little muscle. I also had gyno at the young age of 12 and I thought if I got bigger it would go away. I responded very well to lifting and loved it. Unfortunately the gyno never went away, and wont without some surgery.
Why I Love It:
I never feel as good as I feel when I look in the mirror and see something I am proud of staring back. No other activity has as traceable results or is as continously rewarding. You can always set a new goal and work at it and monitor your progress easily. It just makes me feel great. I dont feel complete without working out.
How I Stay Motivated:
I unfortunately have my off times. For the most part I keep an eye on what I want and keep a journal. I plan to use this to help me achieve my goals as well. A true love for the actual work out is probably my best motivation I love to push myself and test myself.
BB Accomplishments:
I have made myself a well rounded person with the discipline and drive I learned through bodybuilding. I have never competed however.

Here is a picture of me from about a year and a half ago. I have come a long way since then. I was 225 way too heavy and only liked to lift weights. Had all but given up on diet or the prospect of ever being lighter again.
Rehab my shoulder for MMA fighting. bring bodyfat levels back down and aerobic and anaerobic levels through the roof.
Goal (Long):
My goals are to lose about 10-15 lbs bodyfat and put on about 5 more lbs of muscle. Ultimately I want to get to a point that when I cut weight for my fight I cut down to a very large 170. Keeping my bodyfat at around 10% at 180-185 lbs should make that a very attainable. As far as fitness I want to increase my aerobic and anaerobic capacity and currently my work out plan is designed specifically to reach this goal while rehabbing my shoulder. I had surgery for a very badly torn labrum (cartilage surrouning humerous) in my right shoulder in August. I am going to be doing 3 giant sets of 10 compound moves for 20 reps a peice with light weights. Hopefully after about 8 weeks of this 3 days a week mixed with 3 days a week of cardio and my MMA training and I will be close to my goal. Then I plan to try to work on rebuilding my strength for a month or two and go back to this type of training before my grappling competition in July. If I do well in this I will be entering in some local Mixed martial Arts competitions to see how well I can do.
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Shoulder injuries plagued me, had surgery finally after some behind the neck shoulder presses and clean and jerks did the final damage. I am recovering now and my weight poundages are proving it. Had the Labral tear repaired in August of 07. Still trying to get my lifts back up.Shoulder injuries plagued me, had surgery finally after some behind the neck shoulder presses and clean and jerks did the final damage. What is the most common reason that somebody gets injured while lifting?
Ok, so I made it through IKE, and just got electricity back at the house. Gym is closed and my garage gym was covered by all of the additional storage. So... I had not been able to work out for just over a week. All the preparations for the storm cut my workouts off early last week. I was...
Great!
I can't wait. I have set Oct. 15 as my final day of cutting goal reached or not. I can't take this little guy stuff any longer. Keep raising the bar cause the chase is on come Nov. 1st! LOL
Excellent most muscular, Chris! I hope all can get back to normal soon in Houston. -Jeff

i am getting back to working out after pulling a back muscle on tennis court 9 months ago.
thanks
Tried my hand at that myself. Hurt my shoulder, thus the cutting. Hopefully in the next few weeks I can take a little time off and then test my shoulder out with some weight!
Hey bro, on the jump rope....really haven't get the time to start practice or either to take the boxing class. I had reschedule everything for next month...yeah it sucks... just too much work!
Hey, thanks for the add and the comments! Its funny how hard it is to be objective with looking at your own progress pictures . . . the more I look at them, I do see the changes. I think month 2 will be more noticeable overall--we'll see. I see you do MMA. What's your background? I've been in Kempo Jujitsu for about 12 years--wrestling and Judo before that. Great stuff! Wish I could train more!
thanks for the comment...yeah, I overdid it, but I'm pretty good at getting back on track...eating like that so much is only gonna slow my progress...anyhow, your weekend sounds similar to mine, I had a birthday party fri night too!! LoL...have a great week! Nice tris!
Hey man thanks for the thorough comment. I will definitely ask my trainer about what he thinks is the deal with my muscle fibers. Keep tough with the injury man, I remember I didn't and just felt bad for myself when I tore my ACL and I still am looking at the consequences in the mirror
