My Motivation Program

Lately, I have learned that the foundation for BEING & STAYING motivated is internal. One has to have it ALREADY programmed in them that they want to DO better to GET better. So, one must continue to set & push past goals in order to achieve them. A lot of external influences can KEEP you motivated as well. Family, friends, strangers, goals, self pics, etc... can/should KEEP one motivated. These things are put in place to help you along the way when you don't feel like pressing on. I want to show myself that I can start AND finish something that I have set as a goal in my life. I want to see if I can make the ONLY BODY I WILL EVER HAVE look like I want it to through HARDWORK! The NATURAL WAY!!!

swatdog185 It depends on what you are trying to achieve. If you are competing, I would say yes, you need to load up and then cut down. For just staying in shape, I would say no. Mell Mar 27, 2010 10:05pm

batlats it's kind of like maintaining nowadays...always staying lean within a 5-10 lb range so never getting out of shape to where I can't cut down quickly. I try to put it on verrrry slowly :) What's good w/ you? Mar 23, 2010 6:08pm

PBateman2 Thx, bro! For competition, I think it is important to go through a clean bulk phase (i.e. bring up lagging bodyparts) and then cut as you approach your competition allowing at least 12 weeks to reach peak condition. For things like fitness modeling, shoots, etc...it's really not necessary. Hope this helps. Train hard! Mar 23, 2010 12:57pm

LilPenny24 What's up Swiff! Before I decided to do my first show I wouldn't say I was doing a bulking phase. I was lifting heavy and eating anything in sight so I guess you could say I was bulking for about four or five year before my first show, lol. Then for my second show my bulking phase basically started the week after my first show cause I wanted to add more size, especially to my legs. Mar 9, 2010 5:01pm
