When I Started:
Aug, 2003
How I Started:
My parents own a Gym ( All Sports Fitness and Training) and I grew up there. I have always been very interested in working out. In highschool I was a track athlete and was recruited to a few division 1 schools and ended up at Uconn.
Unfortunatly, over training and not the best genetics landed me in the hospital with the choice of never running again or having reconstructive knee surgery.
I obv. had the surgery and its been 9 longgggg months of rehab and im slowly coming back to my pre surgery strength. Although I will never be able to run competitively again, my ability to lift will always be my vice.
Why I Love It:
I love working out for many reasons. I know I will always be healthy and maintain a healthy weight for the rest of my life, but lifting has other influences over me. Since I was 13 I have competed with male athletes from all areas. This gave me the determination to run faster and lift more not just to bet the girls in my events but to give the guys a good run for their money as well.
Lastly, like the rest of us I like to hear that all my hard work and long hours has paid off when someone stops me and says I look great. Thats what we all are here for right?!?!
How I Stay Motivated:
its kinda in the prev. paragraph ^^
Also, the people in my gym are amazing, we all are aware of eachother's goals and give support when needed.
BB Accomplishments:
I have never competed in competitions and I have actually just began to dabbled in body building from power lifting this year.
Buttt, I did max squat 305 lbs and max deadlifted 295lbs 3 years ago during the off season.
You have to start with bodyweight squats and just gradually build up to heavier weights so your tendons and ligaments can adjust to the loads. Make sure you execute proper technique and be patient.
