How I Started:
From the time I was a little girl until I graduated high school I was extremely active in sports such as softball, cheerleading and horseback riding. Once I started college, however, my activity level decreased. One day it finally hit me that I needed to step it up and return to my former level of physical activity and challenge myself in a new sport. I love lifting!
Why I Love It:
There's nothing like the sense of accomplishment I feel after completing a HARD workout. Seeing what I'm made of is what it is all about. And there's nothing like DOMS to remind you just how hard you pushed yourself.
How I Stay Motivated:
Some days are more difficult than others. I live by the words of my mother as constant reminder to strive for my best: "Keep your eye on the prize and you'll go far." Of course, getting compliments from people on my physique doesn't hurt in the motivation department either! ;) I know I've got a long way to go before I get my body where I want it, but taking things one day at a time really does work.
