How I Started:
I've always been athletic & known as the "tomboy" to all my family & friends. Apparently when I first started walking, I didn't just walk, I ran. :) Anyway, I've been playing soccer since I've been a little girl & my junior year of high school, my parents signed me up to train at a local sports performance enhancement gym where they introduced us to plyos, running on a treadmill at various intervals, speed/agility exercises, & free weights. I immediately excelled at all the various tasks I was expected to compete. I had done plyos & various running exercises prior to joining the gym, but I had never been introduced to weights like that. The plyo press soon became my best friend--I loved knowing I could leg press over 200+ more pounds than my female counterparts who were 4 years older than me, & dudes too, but I never really took the weightlifting part seriously. I knew I was extremely strong for not only being a girl, but at just 5 feet, evenmoreso, but again, didn't think anything of it.
Then later that year, I would end up tearing my ACL. I rehabbed with weights to get strong. Senior year I decided I would postpone going to college, & I moved to a training facility sponsored by Nike in Florida for soccer. I again, would end up needing another arthroscopic surgery on the same knee. During this time, I lost a lost of weight & realized I needed to get strong & fit for my sport. I enlisted a nutritionist at the time to get me super fit. When I was able to return to soccer, my level of fitness skyrocketed due to my diet changes. I then was cleared to begin weightlifting with my teammates. I grew stronger with each day & began to see my physique change dramatically. I was no longer just known for my muscular legs, but became known as the "ripped girl."
Why I Love It:
I like feeling physically & mentally stronger, not to mention I love looking ripped.
How I Stay Motivated:
I need to be strong in collegiate soccer, especially at my size: 5'1", 124, & due to my 4 knee surgeries.
BB Accomplishments:
Not yet, but it'll come when I can finally compete.

Getting stronger, and more cut up, all the while staying healthy for soccer. I need to learn to not overrtain. You think I'd get that after having 4 knee surgeries, & a fracture in my back. Not so much haha.
Goal (Long):
Once my collegiate soccer career is finished, I'd like to pursue something within the fitness industry....most likely I'll end up doing figure competitions, all the while keeping up with my running. Running's in my blood, so I'll never be able to give that up. Triathalons are a possibility.
4 knee surgeries huh? cool! me too! ... well i guess its really not that cool. i tore both my ACL's. one year apart playing football. and i had 2 other orthoscopic surgeries. (also 2 hand surgeries AND i broke my collar bone!) can you beat that?? haha, j/k
Actually, I played forward and right midfield. How about you and how long have you played? I played for SJSU in Cali. and before that in the Netherlands for FC Groningen. If I had to guess I would say forward based on you dancing abilities in the grass there (no I don't dance in the grass).
LOL! Yes, I get requests from men to trade legs all the time. I'm thinking about setting up a booth and rent them out at the shows :o) have a great evening.
