Background
I really never thought of my body as attractive. I always thought I was sort of awkwardsly proportioned, never considered fitness. My entire life I have had the mentality that I could never be athletic, apparently the gene missed me in my family. I have always been terrified to try anything athletic but I was still fairly attractive by the time I got to college, bodywise. I was modeling but at one point, I looked at the proofs I realized I couldn't make it in this industry without getting in shape. I almost shot w/ Rob Sims & he gave me some advice he told me "You have to be in the best shape, with the best skin, best hair, the best package compared to all the other girls or you're not going to go anywhere" & it seems a little overboard but I really took it to hear. I didnt want to be photoshopped. I wanted job security & i found that the fitness industry had a clearer path to where I wanted to be and what I wanted to do. I had to take control of my life and make the proper sacrifices to erase the fat and not NEED to be photoshopped. I studied the models in the industry & i developed the path I wanted to take. So early in 2009, in March i picked up weights for the first time in my life and I was much stronger than I expected myself to be. Ive steadily increased my strength since then and it feels like I've finally found something I'm somewhat good at. I hired a trainer and he helped me get in the best shape of my life and i entered my first fitness competition in May and place 2nd! It was a great accomplishment for me considering all the skills I had to learn from scratch. Now I consider myself very athletic and capable and am not afraid to try new things! If ever I dont have faith in myself I have faith in the capabilities of the human body & the science of exercise & nutrition. Weightlifting has become one of my favorite past times and I love being strong and fit! I am about to graduate shortly with a Nutrition Degree & I have 3 fitness oriented jobs that are helping me toward my goals. I've competed three times since then & everytime has been an improvement. Now working out & eating right is a wonderful habit Ive built up & i plan to continue forever & spread the word to everyone I can!
It's such a great stress reliever. Plus, it's the only thing in my life where I can control the pain in a positive way & create visible results. Now I am working out almost everyday & feeling healthier & better about myself!

Recently decided to push my self to go for pro so her story is very inspiring with the multiple bb accomplishments and where she is with her career so early. I know it's obtainable for myself. See you in the Pro's Michelle.

WH DIETING SUCCESS- FEAR OF SUCCESS
Posted in Training : Jun 27, 2011 4:50pmso a few days ago one of my friends on bodyspace inquired as to whether or not I;ve ever done a professional contest diet because he noticed i always look good but have never reached peak shape for a competition. i told him honestly that i had several times but i can never stick to it so i stopped wasting money.
