I used to be a die-hard snowboarder, but then I broke my arm while being the crazy stunt-girl that I thought I was. I had surgery to fix it, with the titanium plate, screws, and all of that. After being in a cast for 6 weeks, my entire left arm and shoulder were TINY! I knew I had to fix it, so I ventured into the weight room and it has definately been a life-changing experience that I am so grateful for.
Why I Love It:
#1 would have to be the friends that I have made. I can relate so well to people with the same drive to be fit and healthy. I love to inspire and motivate people, I LOVE to be on stage and on the platform, and I love the feeling of accomplishment after a kick-ass workout.
How I Stay Motivated:
I do what I do because I love it. I like to be optimistic about everything in life, so it keeps me going every day to know that I am having fun and making myself healthier every time I hit the gym. I train in a gym with world champion powerlifters, and seeing them work so hard to accomplish their goals makes me even more motivated to accomplish mine!
BB Accomplishments:
I have competed in seven shows, placed 1st or 2nd in five of them, and have been featured in ads for Allmax! Also, I hold 4 AAPF national records!

It is neat to look back and see how even when you thought you looked your best possible, there is still more to be accomplished!
I decided to start powerlifting as a new goal to go after. Now it's about being strong, not just being pretty! My deadlift increased from 225 to 315 in 4 weeks!

Why I like this video: This is my gym - just a tidbit of all the insane lifts that these guys do. Not only are they strong but they train their asses off and it motivates me to achieve my own goals.
JIM GRANDICK SQUAT
Played: 156
Why I like this video: Jim Grandick is one of my favorite guys to watch squat. It's nuts!
Shawn Frankl 870 at 220
Played: 148
Why I like this video: Shawn Frankl's 870lb bench press at 220! September 6 at the Big Iron meet.
My goal for this meet was to total 1,000 lbs. Months ago, some of my teammates told me, "Don't underestimate yourself, I bet you will total 1,050." I thought they were nuts at the time, since that would have been a 120 lb PR total.
Hi Michele...You don't know mw, but I am very familar with Big Iron, and know Becka...It's very nice to see another female powerlifter on here...I want to wish you the best of luck at the Seniors. I am BB right, but do miss cmpeting at the Seniors. Please let me know how you do! Carol Ann Myers
