What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
I dont know what the right age is but I think its best to teach healthy habits to your children while they are young.
Parents who let thier 6 and 7 year olds eat super sized McDonals burger king etc..should be shot. I feel that lazy people are the reason there is an obesity problem.I dont know what the right age is but I think its best to teach healthy habits to your children while they are young.

What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
If you dont know what you are doing ask for help, take the time to do some research. Most importantly stick with it, results take time and effort. You cannot get a new body in 30 days.
I'm glad to hear that you're doing okay and still getting in some good workout time. I'm doing okay as well, but not getting in as much good workout time as I would like - I have the usual excuses, work, family comittments, etc. But I'm still plugging away! I'm looking forward to stepping up my workouts in about one more week in fact.
India, well at least you do get to see a lot of the world in the Navy. How's the new routine going so far? I'm doing okay, pretty much back in the gym after a few weeks of having trouble getting workouts in because of my work. I'm finishing up a bench routine and about to focus on bringing my curling weight up. We'll see what happens!
Just back from India? Welcome back then :) I hope it was a good trip for you! It DOES feel so good to get back to working out, doesn't it? It's hard work but ya feel so good and so much better doing it as opposed to doing nothing at all. How was the food in India? What was it like? Good? Awful? Spicy? Bland?
Thank you. I AM doing "fine" and I look "fine", I even look pretty good! lol. But I really, REALLY want to look really, REALLY SUPER FANTASTIC GREAT! Hmmm...that may take more than just cardio, diet and working out! LOL! j/k...being silly :) I like learning new things from different people and keeping my workouts fresh, too.
Hi Ken, I'm glad you're doing well :) I'm good, too; looking for a local, in-person PT but am not having any luck yet (I live in a rather rural area). Wow, India - that could be fun. Nice that you get to travel. I kinda thought you'd be in the same spot all 2 years. Shows how little I know about the military. But I DO appreciate your service! :)
Hey Ken :) A high school friend of mine went into ROTC for the US Navy and ended up a Lieutenant on a nuclear sub. He once spent 6 MONTHS underwater on a mission. But 2 years on a boat - yikes! That's a LOT of lunches! :) Does the boat have a nice gym at least?
Hi Ken :) It's been weeks since I've been on the site - just busy with summer, work...life in general. How are you and how is Japan? One of my Sgts was stationed in Japan when he was in the US Marines and he LOVED it! Even now, he said he'd move back there from the US in a heartbeat. I was shocked! I thought there was no place better to live than the US. He said Japan is clean, orderly and very little crime. I hope you like it, too. How long are you stationed there?
It's good to hear that you are settled in and back in the gym. My workout's not going too badly - I was on vacation for a couple weeks but with no apparent loss in strength but a little loss in weight and fat (not sure how I did it). My training partner is now on vacation, but I'm still managing to get to the gym - just can't bench as heavy as I would like until he's back!
Thank you, Ken. Is your new duty station in Japan? I think I read that someplace but don't remember if that's correct. You're looking GREAT even if you have been out of the gym for a month :)
Thanks for letting me know what's going on with you. So is this now the duty in Japan? I'm actually responding to you from Hawaii right now (vacation). Let me know how things go once you get back into the gym - you don't want to backslide now!
