When I Started:
2005
How I Started:
I came back to bodybuilding after a long break. When my fiance passed away suddenly, I not only rediscovered the sense of peace I get while lifting, I realized how important it is to stay healthy. Originally, I started in high school to keep in shape after I stopped dancing competitively.
Why I Love It:
It helps me to focus on what is important in my life and put things in perspective. When I see a ridiculously heavy tractor tire and then I'm able to flip it... it makes life's obstacles seem small by comparison.
How I Stay Motivated:
Right now I'm motivated by my clients. Seeing them work hard, overcome obstacles and move without pain is AWESOME! Also, I'm motivated by my best friend who tells me everyday how proud he is of me.
BB Accomplishments:
Being able to flip that damn tractor tire! I will be adding "14% BF" to this list by March 27th, 2010.

Yikes! - 155 lbs. A little more dense and compact - 147.5
I thought I was in decent shape here. Clearly, my mirror was warped. When I looked at these pics after my vacay I was HORRIFIED! How could I not know what I looked like. Well, NO MORE. This is the last time I will ever be 155 ever again.
Well, it may have taken me 8 months to get here, but I'm on my way. Minimal weight difference, but much more muscle and LOTS less BF. Going for 137lbs. Hoping to get there by Jan 1st!

Goal (Long):
I used to be an avid visitor of BB.com. Somehow I lost my way and forgot about priorities. Not so long ago my fiance died suddenly at the age of 38, while we were on vacation. For a time, I thought I'd never live to see the day when I could wake up and not relive every moment of that horror. I thought I'd lost myself completely. Well... ...I'M BACK B!T@HE$!!! I don't to waste another day. I've taken an inventory of my priorities and put them all where they belong. What are my top three? 1. To make healthy choices about my life, my body and my mind 2. ALWAYS remember that I have people around me who love and support me, but that I am responsible for the direction of my life 3. You cannot reap life-changing reward, without great challenge Thus far, I have managed to rebuild a lot of the physique I once had, but I still have a ways to go. In the cutting department. My short term goals (Jan 27, 2010) are: BF: 16-17% Fat Mass: 22-24lbs. Lean Mass: 118-120lbs. Total Mass: 142-144lbs. My Long term goals (March 15, 2010) are: BF: 13-14% Fat Mass: 15-17lbs. Lean Mass: 117-120lbs. Total Mass: 132-137lbs.
Weight Goal:
I want to LOSE 16 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
14%

Sometimes I feel old. In body, my head and my heart. This man is a perfect example that you can make dramatic changes at any age. In my teens and even now, I watch my father, who is the same age, deteriorate physically and now mentally from constant pain, due to sports injury. I learned to believe that you were useless after 45. With so many here like oldsupe I now know you can look and feel better at 55, than most 25 year olds! THANKS BUDDY

What do you think about people who "grunt" loudly while working out? Do you do it?
Really breathing through your workouts is one thing, sounding like a raving like a zombie is another. Please people
- Updated Jan 16, 2008 10:29pm

Do you socialize while at the gym?
No
- Updated Jan 16, 2008 10:29pm

What type of outfit do you usually wear when you workout? Why?
Tight capris and a tank or fitted t. That way I can see my muscles, but everyone can't see my everything.

So I woke up with a cold today, which sucked because I thought I had fought it off -- apparently not. At least, it'll force me to eat super clean paleo because I know I'll recover faster that way. I still got to the gym this morning but it wasn't very productive from a workout standpoint. On...

OMG! I had to tell you about the yummy paleo pancakes I made this am: 2 eggs, 1/2c almond meal, 1/2 c coconut milk, vanilla, and cinnamon- mix all together and cook like pancakes. You HAVE to try it!

Think of having that much weight in a pile of wieght plates, it wouldnt be hard to pick up one maybe even two or three at a time and throw them or run them untill you had the entire pile moved to another location... The capabillity of the human body is completely unreal, and whats worse, is that most of us dont have the slightest clue... Happy new years by the way gorgeous. The best of my wishes to you and all your future goals.

Its much easier than it sounds though I have come to find... consider moving 100lb sand bags, up and down a football field, snatching body weight over head to 21,15,9 ohs, flipping combine (not typical tractor tires) tires, running windsprints uphill w/ 200lbs partner fireman carry so on and so on. its just how fast you can do the workouts keeping the least amount of time between them

Happy New Year babe! Thanks for getting back to me. I finished my 3 week paleo challenge and lost 10lbs and leaned out a lot-especially in my waist. I've been listening to Robb Wolfe's podcasts and they're really informative. Unfortunately I'm gonna have to decrease my fruits and nuts if I want to get leaner quicker :( Oh well..I'm down! How are things with you?

Hey babe! Just stopping by to say hola :) I hope you had a nice Christmas! Quick question: do you think it's ok to use almond meal/almond milk/ almond butter/ coconut milk while on the paleo plan- especially when trying to get lean. In moderation of course..

I have recently quit focusing so much on how much weight i can push in a set, and focusing more on how much weight I can move over a 45 min to 1 hr and 1/2 period of time. Last night I moved 86,436lbs in just under 50min. since I have started this I have put on six lbs of lean mass. particularly in my back, quads, and traps

Aw thanks babe :)I actually put myself on a 21 day paleo challenge. I'm on day four and doing great (even lost 5lbs already). I probably need to back away from the nuts a little, but I feel great! I will def continue to eat the paleo way after my challenge, but I'll prob include 2 open meals. Thanks for the info- I'll check it out!
