How I Started:
I have always been competitive when I was in middle school, but I have always heard that you shouldn't workout when you are young. When I started high school, I figured I was old enough to really start getting some muscle. I observed that the only way to get more muscle is to weight lift.
Why I Love It:
I love the pumps and the results. I think almost everybody likes the feeling of swelling their muscle with blood.
How I Stay Motivated:
I just am, there is never a shortage of motivation for me to workout. Also, I notice I become even more inspired everytime I see bodybuilders.
BB Accomplishments:
I came extremely close to dying at age 15 when my disease, ulcerative colitis, flared up and I was sent to the hospital. I spent 2 months my first time in the hospital and came out 92 pounds and without my entire large intestine. I was too weak to walk, too sick to drink even water, and in too much pain to talk for a few days because taking in air hurt my abdomin. So being 6 feet tall at the time and 92 lbs destroyed all of my confidence and completely lost all of my muscle. From there on, I started benching the bar, curling 10 lb dumbells, and got tired from even walking up the stairs. I then required 2 more surgeries to reverse my ileostomy (yes I had a colon bag)and lost 50 more pounds from them. I had gained weight after my first surgery, I wasn't 40 lbs, lol. Now I weigh 160 lbs, and I am 17 years old. I went from benching the bar, to benching 205 lbs, repping 50 lb dumbells, and being able to rope pulldown the entire rack of weights at my gym. My progress has been ridiculous.

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
12, then 10, 8, 6,6, because that is what Arnold Schwarzenegger says and what he says goes.
- Updated Dec 13, 2008 9:02am

How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
less than a minute, because that is also what Arnold Schwarzenegger says.
- Updated Dec 10, 2008 1:07pm

Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
I have an injury right now; it is somewhere in my upper back. I haven't been able to weightlift for 2 weeks now.

Hey guys, I just put together an EP after reading The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding by Arnold Schwarzenegger. I'm currently injured, but I can't wait to follow this program.

Thanks for the blog comment. I agree - while I'm not expecting huge gains every week, I'll certainly take the ones that I do get!

Sorry about your injury, I hope you recover soon and allow you to re-train. At the moment I'm training at home.
