How I Started:
I've always been athletic and made working out a priority. I was a tri-varsity athlete throughout high school (soccer, bball, lacrosse) and went on to play collegiate lacrosse in Canada. I wound up taking things too far; and by that I mean overtraining, not eating enough food to nourish all of my training, and just not being kind to my body. I wound up hurting my knee and played a whole season without getting it checked out... long story short, after college lacrosse I was forced to take a break to get my knee back in working order and let me tell you... my metabolism was completely shot... I gained about 30 pounds while only eating 500-750 calories a day... hmmm.. no wonder my metabolism was messed up... anyways... I am now at a place where I think I have "corrected" my metabolism so that I can start getting in shape again... this time the healthy way... no more 4 hour cardio days for me (I was also trying to train for a marathon during the peak of my lax season... not a smart idea considering I already had 2 practices a day)! I am hitting the weights and keeping my cardio under control... Well, that's my story... Here's to a rock hard 2008 y'all :)

Everyone on here is so great and supportive... it is hard not to be motivated when this community is so pumped all the time... I am so glad I found you guys :)

i can't believe it's less than 2 weeks away now! AAAAAHHHH!! i'm ready but nervous but i'm trying to keep telling myself positive things.. how have you been lil cutie??
I'm in Omaha right now sitting on DanicaX's porch. We just concluded a 15 mile bike ride. That isn't my usual Sunday fair. You basically come close to death riding up a hill and she is all, "that hill was easy." I think I left part of me on that hill. Part of me that I'm going to miss. Get those pics back up there, damn it!
Ugh that break actually didn't do my body any good! my body isn't utilizing food like it should be.. seriously think a thyroid prob..:( which isn't good. but i feel better now that my ear is healed!:) 3 weeks till i get the results from all the lab work:)

Hey there! Thanks for the visit :) I normally just use Xtend DURING my workout, but on days where I'm anticipating lots of soreness (haha) I'll sip it in between meals to help with recovery. How is training going for you?
i was so scared of the bike shoes and pedals.. but now that i'm used to them, i LOVE them.. especially on the hills! of course, there's an introductory period in which ALL humility is lost, because you WILL fall.. and we ALL have.. and we ALL laugh.. and then you're in the group.. =)
goodness, i am sooo hooked on riding! i joined a triathlete group last week and my first ride was last saturday! freakin' LOVED it! =) i've been joking with fitnblnde5 that i'm gonna ride across the US of A stopping in on all my cyber friends.. careful! i LOVE Mass =) haha.. i hope you survive your classes.. somehow we always get thru the insanity and then we wonder what we were worried about.. so GOOD LUCK MG!
Ya.. my suggestion..NEVER NEVER NEVERRRR get orange in anything :eeks: usually orange flavoring is disapointing to say the least!
Remember you can always add crystal light to things too! I would have stuck lemonade crystal light w/ the orange hoping to give it more of a lemon taste:)
Love the new diet, i feel really great on it!:) Things are going very well, just did an amazing shoulder workout- I did it in record speeds! LOL my chest is super sore from Wedensday.. I need my Xtend to hurry up and come :(
