Overall Goal: I want to swell and shred. To look in the mirror and say "DAMN!" and know I can run around without a shirt on and be proud.

When I Started:
1991
How I Started:
Football workouts in high school. I played college football and lifting was a job for four years. I got to where the last place I wanted to be was the weight room. Once I got done, I vowed never to lift hard again since it had been such a job. After two years of losing muscle/gaining fat, I started again. Now I have been off and on for 8 years and want to get serious. I have never been a very big dude or extremely cut, so I am going to give it a shot.
Why I Love It:
After football, this is one of the only ways I know to maintain that intensity/anger/aggression. I like the routine of it and how it sets my day.
I love the discipline involved with it; how a lot of people are hit and miss with working out and how I know i don't skip workouts. The focus needed to continue to make body and lifting gains makes me practice for life about focusing on goals and progress, not getting distracted by outside influences.
I struggle with maintaining good self-esteem about various issues in my life and lifting and seeing body improvements helps me feel I have control over stuff.
How I Stay Motivated:
Wanting to see how far I can get. I have always self-sabotaged and want to go all in on this. People are starting to make comments about how my body has changed, and I can see change in the pics. This just makes me want to work harder. Plus, with NO xplode, a person has no choice but to motivated. That stuff rocks!
BB Accomplishments:
Not really an accomplishment, but will be soon: Three months ago my wife came home at 5:00 am and told me she was out, done with our marriage after 13 years. She had met her perfect man and we had run our course. I stopped eating and lifting and lost many of my gains. But I have been working out for about a month and starting back. I am forcing myself to get back on her and get my life together.
I want to swell and shred. To look in the mirror and say "DAMN!" and know I can run around without a shirt on and be proud.
Goal (Long):
By controlling diet and alcohol intake, I want to create the body I have always wanted. I have a negative pattern in my life of self-sabotaging everything good in my life. I want to find a balance between enjoying life, keeping my current weight, and continuing to gain muscle mass and get cut. My body shrinks when I don't work very hard in the weight room, and I don't want to lose any size gains I have made in the last six months (20 pounds of good muscle).
Weight Goal:
I want to GAIN 5 lb
Bodyfat Goal:
15%

Did my first workout of the week on Lower, had a pretty good one, lots of records for me. Also had a great 10 min close to sprint afterwords, level 6 and 7 on treadmill. Was dripping sweat when I walked out, but the NO xplode did the trick. I had plenty of juice for the entire hour. I...
Thank you!! Yeah, I guess it's my personality, once I set me mind on something it's 150% effort. Sometimes that is good, sometimes bad, but for the most part it works for the positive!! Thanks for taking the time to read it! Belinda ps. those arms are looking huge, you have the right body structure to get that great size.
LOL thanks! I taught 8th grade English (by force haha) and gifted and talented classes. I used to work out with my girls. I haven't been teaching now for almost 6 years... hence the need to start working out again!
