When I Started:
Jan, 2008
How I Started:
I wanted to get in better shape myself and I also wanted my Dad to get in better shape. So we started out going to Turbo Kick class at our gym. I did a 5K a couple of months after that and started to see some results then it just kind of took off.
Why I Love It:
I love how I feel, I like how I am starting to look, and it's nice to get looks. I started doing Triathlons and I would like to become a part time personal trainer.
How I Stay Motivated:
I think motivation is a decision that comes from within you. The Truth motivates me, I heard a guy say "When you realize loosing fat and getting in shape is hard, then it will become easy". I like the challenge of motivation. When you watch a video of Ironman, Tour De’ France, a Marathon what ever all the people cheering you on is motivating, but when you’re training the streets aren't lined with people cheering you on. So it has to come from within. I have also heard to be successful you must surround yourself with success. The gym I go to has some really great people there and I want to be one of those kinds of people.
BB Accomplishments:
I have been an athlete all my life. Fell off the wagon for about 8-10 years and decided to get back on. Lost 30 Pounds and am well on my way to changing my body to look like it was meant to look like.

Goal (Long):
I want a good washboard stomach, I want great tones muscle. I want the body everyone thinks of when they think of the ultimate fitness body. I don't want huge muscle mass because I don't want to have to pack it around while doing a Triathlon. I just want my body to look like what it was ment to look like.
I find this member inspirational through their hard work and dedication to reach their health and fitness goals. They inspire me to train harder, eat better, and be more active on BodySpace!
How has bodybuilding and fitness helped you in your career?
I am a Fireman so being fit is a big plus for me and for the people who I have to work for. Being as strong and as fit as I can be helps me perform the best I can.

Other than the obvious benefits (appearance, health, etc.), how has bodybuilding and fitness improved your overall life?
I sleep better, I am not stressed I guess I would say I enjoy life more. I simply feel better and would rather be doing something than sitting around.

Why? What are the pros and cons of working out there?
I guess I would have to qualify working out I Lift at a local gym F.F.T.K. in Indiana, I run outdoors as much as I can also have a tredmill at home. I cycle outdoors as much as possible or ride stationary at my gym. I swim in the Ohio river weather permitting and at Southwestern High School during the winter. So long story short alittle of everywhere. I guess I would have to qualify working out I Lift at a local gym F.F.T.K. in Indiana, I run outdoors as much as I can also have a tredmill at home. Been a while since I have put much into words here! I have scaled back on my weight lifting, trying to balance my time in the gym, on the road and in the water. I am having a blast and really do enjoy multi sport races. The people that you get to meet are top notch and their stories...
lol...it was like that when I lived in Tenn...when I head south to visit my son I feel like a freak show. lol...thx for the inspiration...I never want to fall into the "I don't care" trap, if ya know what I mean.
Diet has always been the most important. It just takes some of us (for me...pretty much my whole life until now) longer than others to realize that is what makes the biggest difference. I am from the athlete school of thought that if you work out enough that you can eat whatever you want to eat. I've learned my lesson and put on about 20lbs (in my ASS) from it!!! Haha, good luck to you! And once you get started and see results you don't want to stop.
Shiritaki is the generic name for the noodles. The shiritaki noodles I usually eat are called Miracle Noodles, by brand. The noodles in my curried noodles pic are a different brank (w/ tofu in them), which is why they're opaque. Miracle Noodles are more transparent.
LOL!! god your comment made me laugh! big girls and billy goats?? but they're probably big healthy farm girls that could kick my ass in the gym!! :) have a great week...be safe
If you are into the bar scene, threr are several in the area. We have a movie theatre not far from Anniston and there are several museums in the area. There is also Mt Cheaha if you like hiking or mountain climbing.
Incidentally, all of the Chicago beaches are closed today due to the heavy rain we rec'd last week. I don't know how this will effect today's events... maybe they were cancelled? ANd so you might be talking about the same event that has been post poned? I dunno....
When is the urbanathalon? There is some sort of Men's Health sporting event going on TODAY at North Avenue Beach. If that's the event you're talking about, then you better hurry up! Sorry can't run with you. I'm not a runner. :(
