When I Started:
Jan, 2009
How I Started:
Out of curiosity I started reading about bodybuilding in 2007. Specifically the pumping iron era bodybuilders first such as Arnold and Franco, and later on Mike Mentzer, Ronnie Coleman, and Dorian Yates. I knew from the start that I didn't want to be nearly as large as these guys, nor did I ever want to compete in bodybuilding, but the thought of bulking up intrigued me. I like the discipline required for maintaining an exercise program, and felt that it could raise my self-confidence greatly.
Why I Love It:
I feel more confident about myself, exercising puts me in a better mood for the rest of the day, and it's just fun.
How I Stay Motivated:
For each session, I look to increase the weight that I had lifted the last time I was in the gym. This keeps me motivated because I am able to see my progress. Also, I have goals set that I'd like to achieve, and reminding myself of them keeps me going.
